Chapter 5

After the breakdown and comforting, Sonic fell asleep in Shadow's arms. Shadow looked down at him smiling and stood up with Sonic in his arms bridal style. He took Sonic to his guest room where he tucked him in and gave him a small and brief kiss on the forehead and left the room to go to his own room where he layed down and immediately fell asleep.

The next day Sonic woke up in a room that wasn't at all familiar to him but smelled like his crush, Shadow.

"W-Where am I? Why does my head hurt?

Sonic pondered out loud and was about to get up when Shadow entered the room.

"Hello Sonic, How are you feeling?"

"Like absolute sh*t."

Sonic groaned as he rubbed his head due to his headache.

"Hey language."

Shadow said as he glared at Sonic. Sonic rolled his eyes and crossed his arms chuckling.

"Says the hedgehog that used to curse when was only five years old."

Sonic smirked at Shadow as he said this. Said hedgehog blushed of embarrassment from Sonic's words.

"I was only five, give me a break!"

Shadow yelled as he stuck his tongue out at Sonic who only stuck his tongue out back at him. Both hedgehogs looked at each other before bursting out laughing.

"So umm Shads, what am I doing in your bed?"

Sonic asked after his laughter died down.

"Oh do you not remember? You broke down crying and fell asleep in my arms. I didn't fell like chaos controlling you home so I just put you in my guest room."

Sonic made the 'really' face as he looked at Shadow, who shrugged his arms lazily.

"What I was tired!"

"Typical Shadow."

Sonic said chuckling. After a while Sonic stopped chuckling and the room fell silent. Both hedgehogs stared at each other before Shadow took a step forward and sat on the bed in front of Sonic.

"Sonic, why did you start crying yesterday after everyone left."

Shadow asked in a serious voice as he stared at Sonic. Sonic didn't answer but instead looked at his hands as if they were the most interesting thing ever.

"Umm w-what are t-talking about, I never started crying."

Sonic said putting on a fake smile hoping Shadow would bye it. Unfortunately for Sonic, Shadow did not believe him.

"Sonic I'm not an idiot, those we're tears falling down you're face and I wanna know why."

Shadow crossed his arms and Sonic looked away.

It wasn't a matter of time before Sonic broke down again and told Shadow why he was crying.

"I like someone okay! But they like someone else. It broke my heart to see the to of them together so I couldn't take it!"

Sonic yelled at Shadow with tears streaming down his face. He never knew how broken this hedgehog is until now.

"S-Sonic I'm so-"

"Whatever, we gotta go anyways before we're late to school."

Sonic mumbled as he stood and walked out the room. He opened Shadow's front door and ran out all the way to school.

'What happened to you hedgehog?'

Shadow thought as started getting his things ready so he could go to school.
