Third person POV

Sonic and Jacob made their way to their first class together. Sonic had completely forgotten that him and Shadow were supposed to be walking to class together. When Sonic walked to the class, he immediately stopped and chuckled nervously. There Shadow was, glaring straight at Sonic.

"Excuse me but did you forget that we were supposed to be walking to class together?!"

Shadow looked extremely annoyed. Sonic rubbed his neck nervously before he answered Shadow.

"Um if I say yes, do I still get my chilli dogs?"

"No."

"Aww man, mah chilli dogs."

"Don't worry Sonic, I'll buy you some chilli dogs!"

Jacob had popped up from behind Sonic and stood in front of him, smiling. Sonic looked surprised at first but then he shook his head before smiling again.

"That's ok Jacob, you don't have to if you don't want to."

But Jacob shook his head staring at Sonic.

"I do want to. As a gift for being my friend."

Then Jacob smiled at Sonic and Sonic smiled back. As Shadow looked at them, he began to get angry. He looked away from the two who sat down at their seats and started talking. He took deep breath, telling himself, "There is no reason to be mad. Their just friends, right?"

"So who's your friend here?"

"Oh his name is Jacob Rivers. But I call JJ for short."

Sonic said smiling at Shadow. He had began to blush but made his blush go away when he remembered Amy flirting with him and him not doing anything about it. Sonic's ears pinned to his head as he looked down at the floor.

"Senpie are you ok?"

"Senpie?"

"Sorry! I don't know why I said that. It just came out my mouth."

"It's okay! I don't mind.

Sonic then turned to the board as class had started and the teacher and students came into the classroom. Before turning his attention to the teacher, Shadow glared at Jacob. Jacob glared right back and turned his attention to the teacher. The rivalry between Jacob and Shadow began. Fighting for Sonic's love.

~A.F.T.E.R C.L.A.S.S, A.T L.U.N.C.H T.I.M.E~

Sonic had sat down at his regular table with his friends, only this time someone new is joining them.

"Hey guys!"

Sonic said as he say down. Jacob sat down next to him on his right and Shadow sat down next to Sonic on his left.

"Hey Sonic! Who's that?"

"Oh! This is Jacob! Jacob, these are my friends." (A/N: To lazy to put all their names.)

"Nice to meet you all!"

"Nice to meet you too Mr. Jacob!"

Cream said as she held cheese. Every else had either said hey, or just waved at Jacob and began to eat their food. Shadow crossed his arms glaring at Jacob.

"Hey Jacob, mind if I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure!"

Jacob and Shadow stood up front their seats and walked outside the lunchroom.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"Whatever do you mean?"

Jacob tried to play dumb but he knew exactly what Shadow meant.

"Don't try that dumb act on me. I don't know who hell you think you are but Sonic is mine."

"Sonic is not an object so you can't just claim his as yours, and you don't even like Sonic! So why do you care?"

Shadow went quiet. He actually didn't know why he cared. All he knew was that something inside raged whenever he saw someone else with Sonic. It made angry and he didn't necessarily know what the feeling was.

"I care because you are not going to steal Sonic away from me!"

"Fine then. May the best man win."

"May the best man win."

They shook hands and went back into the cafeteria, having not have known that a certain pink hedgehog was watching. She looked furious.

"Just you wait Shadow, you will be mine! I just have to get rid of Sonic first. Once he is out of the picture, Shadow is mine."

Then she walked away without knowing that Mephiles was watching.

"Gotta tell Shadow."

Then he walked into the cafeteria. So is starts, the battle for love. Sonic and Shadow's love.
