FOUR the stars were her spotlight

"IF YOU WOULD MIND LETTING ME INTO YOUR ANGER, SO I WON'T HAVE TO FEAR FOR MY LIFE?" Caspian grunts with a teasing grin for the nth time as the foreign queen twirled out of his way, nearly causing him to lose his sword.

"It doubles as a warning never to test a woman's anger, no?" She says back, narrowly dodging his hit towards her feet. "I take you've never fought a Pembralli woman before."

"No, I haven't had the pleasure," He grunted as he dropped his sword, quickly picking it up but by the time he rises, Alma was already walking around him like a predator.

"Now you have," She says with a smirk, letting out a short yelp before striking again.

Caspian quickly deflects it, righting himself, "You're Pembralli?"

"My mother was," Alma informed. "I am the peace and union both Idris and Pembrall couldn't achieve civilly." She performs a quick, complicated sequence, but it does end with Caspian on his back, the tip of her sword at his chest, and his sword in the other side of the room. "Certainly I can't be alive as Queen until now without knowing how to hold my own."

"I've never encountered fighting techniques such as yours before," Caspian admitted in awe, standing up with a new respect towards this queen. "I ought to tell you your ability can come up to par with King Edmund, Narnia's finest swordsman."

Alma felt her lips tip up, "I suppose if that comes from the King of Narnia himself, it must be a compliment."

"I suppose if you two are done flirting," A feminine voice spoke jokingly, both royals jumping and whirling around, only to see Mary Dubois at the doorway with a grin. "I'd like to ask Queen Alma herself if she'd like to walk around town with me."

"Would you please learn to knock, Mary?" Caspian said, exasperated. He returns his sword in the sheath that hangs around his waist, just as Alma slid her sword into the crevice in her dress made just for her.

Mary's jaw drops in shock, "That is amazing. Alma, you have to teach me how you do that."

"A day isn't enough for one to learn," Alma says with a raised brow.

"I'm a quick learner. Besides, just where do you even find dresses like that? All I've seen are trousers and swords."
