Jimin's request was simple: one last annual stay at their shared summer cabin. One last night of carefree, fun with his best buds. He didn't intend for this to be their last night... ever.

"My darling nephew!" Aunt Wendy embraces me.
Jaehyun's mother grabs him by the shoulder. "You really messed up," she hisses through gritted teeth. He tries to slip out of her grasp but she grips him tighter.
"Ryujin!" Her mother cries. "You were so close to a blessing. How could you be so bratty and ungrateful?" Ryujin bites her lips while holding back tears.
What is wrong with the adults?
Wooyoung shakes hands with Commander Chung. "Thank you for looking out for our dearest nephew."
Commander Chung nods in response. He looks to the side before dropping his voice. "It was my honor to look after The Chosen One."
The Chosen One? I'm not the Pied Piper. I'm not trying to take over them. Why are all the grown ups acting like this? Who even created this crazy story?
"Excuse me."
The adults all turn to Misa. "Is there any way to get in touch with Jungkook's parents?" Misa seems to sense that something is off.
"I'm his legal guardian," Aunt Wendy answers.
Misa frowns. "So are you aware that they were in danger tonight?"
"Are you questioning our parenting?" Wooyoung steps closer to Misa. She's so much shorter than him but she stands tall, with crossed arms, like my mother would've.
"I'm just 'concerned' because anything could've happened to them."
Wooyoung's eyes hold a furious stare. "My darling nephew and his friends can be troublemakers-"
"What?" I emit a high pitched shriek.
Wendy, who is still embracing me, buries my face in her shoulder. "Quiet," she whispers.
"Perfect example," Wooyoung says as if he's right. Jaehyun's mother nods along while Wooyoung continues. "Today is our nephew's birthday. We felt it was appropriate to attend church tonight to thank the Almighty one for giving him another year of life. He and his friends threw temper tantrums because they felt church was boring."
Misa and Private Moon exchange disbelieving glances. "I spoke with Jaehyun's father," Private Moon says to Jaehyun's mother. All of the adults, except Private Moon and Misa, briefly go wide eyed.
Jaehyun's mother clutches her chest. "That's absurd!" Wooyoung places a hand on her shoulder as she continues. "Jaehyun's father left us when I was pregnant."
Her loudness causes two other soldiers to peek into the hallway.
"Is everything okay, Commander?"
Commander Moon places his hands behind his back. "I could use some assistance."
The two soldiers walk closer to our group. They officially greet the Commander before he gives his orders.
"Please escort our guest Miss Misa and Private Moon to the sleeping quarters."
