TRIGGER WARNING: HEAVY PROFANITY, SLURS, ANGST, VIOLENCE

-_---_-_-_--_-_-_-_-

"Mirio.." Tamaki said, his voice quivering in fear.

Mirio looked up from his phone, the tone of Tamaki's voice instantly putting the blonde on high alarm.

"What's wrong?" He asked, standing up, tossing his phone down on the couch.

"I-I think someone is outside the window." Tamaki stuttered nervously, honestly not sure of what he saw, but certain he saw something.

"What? Come over here." Mirio said, motioning for Tamaki to get to the opposite side of the room, away from the window. He could tell by Tamaki's expression that he had infact saw something disturbing outside, and frankly, he didn't wan't Tamaki anywhere near it.

Tamaki was a hero, sure, but he had just fought a villian not too long ago and didn't have the stamina to fight anymore that day.

Tamaki knew this, so he ran over to Mirio and stood behind him, "W-what do we do?"

Mirio was about to answer, but his voice was stolen from him by a loud bang resounding from--well Mirio could only guess--the back door.

"They're trying to kick the door down." Mirio said, he himself was now a bit panicked. Of course, he couldn't let Tamaki know that.

Tamaki flintched with every bang, his expression becoming more and more horrified as the sound rang through his ears, "Wh-wha-what do w-we do?" Tamaki asked again, huddling close to Mirio's side.

Mirio's mind did backflips as he tried to think of a game plan, he was never great with strategy, but in that moment he knew he had to get good real quick, "There's an emergency exit in the basement." He said quietly as to not let the intruder overhear, which was actually pretty pointless given the banging had not ceased.

"B-but the entrance to the basement is past the back door." Tamaki said, "There has to be another way."

Mirio shook his head, "There's no way that person made it to the backdoor in the time he did, there has to be more than one person. The emergency exit is the only way."

Tamaki looked over at the hallway leading to the backdoor and back at Mirio, "Mirio I-"

There was a crash and a figure falling onto the floor, springing into action not even a second after impact.

There wasn't a doubt in Mirio's mind that they had to make a move, and they had too make a move now.

"Run!" Mirio said, grabbing Tamaki and running with him, their uninvited guest chasing after them.

Mirio could feel his veins pumping with so much adrenaline he felt as if could burst. The run to the other side of the house wasn't long, but it felt like it was. Mirio was exhausted, not even two hours ago he and Tamaki had gotten home from a mission that wasn't exactly child's play.

But he had to keep going. He had to protect Tamaki. He had to protect his love with everything he had.

Home stretch. Mirio ran upon the back door, feet away from the basement.

Just as they passed the door, it came down with a crash, almost hitting Tamaki, who was not even a foot behind Mirio.

As soon as Mirio heard the door fall down he looked back, which, in hindsight, revealed the most horrifying scene he had ever witnessed.

He teared up at the sight and stopped dead in his tracks, "No.." Tamaki squirmed under the hold of two large men wearing almost mocking Halloween masks with exaggerated facial features.
