My boots slapped against the tiled flooring of the swimming pool as I enter and then I kneel down at the side of the pool looking into the bluish water for my friend Percy. It was common knowledge that if we weren't forced to be in classes then Percy was probably in the pool doing. laps and always trying to get better even though he doesn't need it because he's already so talented but he says we can always improve right?

"Percy!" I call cupping my hands around my mouth so it was louder and so he could hear me under the water. It took a minute but Percy shot out the water so fast that I swear he gave himself whiplash but when I saw the water dripping off his sculpted chest I swear my heart stopped and I could have stared at the boy for hours and never get tired of it but I force a laugh out of my mouth and roll my eyes "Percy stop showing off, we have to get to maths soon and you know Ms Dixon will give you detention if you're late to class one more time"

"Well I guess we'll just have to hurry up then" Percy replied cheerfully

I smile back at him, my mind unable to form words as I watch him get out of the water like he was some kind of supermodel. I had known Percy since he first started coming to Goode right before half of the school blew up and I didn't see him for a while but then he came back and we hit it off right away always teasing each other and generally just becoming friends and that's where my crush on Percy Jackson first started but then he went away for like a year before coming back to Goode to finish his Senior year with no explanation as to where he went or why. he was off for a year he just said it was a family emergency and there was no getting out of it but when he came back he also came back as hot as hell and that's when my crush started to grow and take root

"Jessica?" Percy's voice brings me out of my little daydream as he snaps his fingers in front of my face and I look at him to see that he was already dried and dressed. How long had I been staring at him? "Jessie are you alright? You seemed to be in your own little world for a moment there?"

"Yeah" I nod "I'm fine"

"Great" Percy grins his trouble maker grin that made me fall for him in the first place and I could feel heat rush to my cheeks and I go to hide behind my curly brown hair but luckily Percy doesn't seem to notice as he seems to be in his own little world himself as we start to walk out of the swimming pool and towards the maths block "Hey, I was wondering if after maths you would like to meet my girlfriend? She's picking me up today as we're going to camp for the weekend"

My heart sinks a little at the mention of a girlfriend but I force a smile "Yeah sure"

I was waiting in the parking lot with Percy and he was trying to spot his girlfriend's car, his eyes scanned the handful of cars that were left since Ms Dixon was in a particularly foul mood and ended up keeping the whole class behind for twenty minutes after the bell. Finally though his green eyes lit up and he took my hand before pulling me over to a grey Spyder and I felt my jaw drop at the expensive look of the car, it wasn't cheap! I knew that much!

Percy wrapped on the window a few times and the person sitting in the drivers seat stiffened slightly and her eyes seemed to shift as she looked for any signs of danger until they landed on Percy and a ticked off expression washed over her features as she rolled down the window "Percy Jackson! Do you have any idea how long I've waited for you? I thought something bad had happened to yo--"

Before the girl could get anymore worked up Percy stuck his head through the open window and pecked her on the lips, it seemed to take her by surprise but it calmed her down all the same and when they pulled away Percy whispered "I know Wise Girl I know"

It was a heartbreaking scene for me to watch seeing how in love these two were and how worried she was over his well being and I wanted to dash out of there as fast as I could and get home before crying for days on end that the person I was in love was in love with another person but before I could say anything the car door swung open and out walked Percy Jackson's girlfriend 

She was the complete opposite of me with honey blonde hair curled into lose ringlets whereas I had thick and bushy brown hair that was always curly and couldn't be tamed with a brush no matter how hard I always tried and she had tanned golden skin with big grey eyes that were hardened as if she was looking for a million different things all at once which contrasted with my pale skin and narrowed dark brown eyes. The girl also had an athletic frame and serious muscle which I could never have on my too skinny frame, all in all the girl in front of me looked like some kind of goddess 

"Hi you must be Percy's friend" The girl smiled at me "I'm Annabeth Chase"

"Hey" I smile nervously back "I'm Jessica Walker"

"You know I'm glad Percy has someone like you to keep him out of trouble when I'm not around to you seem like a lovely girl and I would love to get to know you more but seen as this Seaweed Brain was late we really have to get back to Camp, but I'm sure I'll see you more in the future and we can get to know each other then" Annabeth explains guilt flickering over her features and although I wanted to hate her so badly I can't find it with in me to do so -- she was generally a nice girl and Percy made the right choice 

"I hope so too" I tell her and watch and wave as the two of them get in the car and drive away
