A/N: Hello everyone! I want to give everyone who's been waiting for chapter 2 an apology. I haven't posted in FOREVER, and I'm really sorry. This story has been in the back of my mind and every time I tried to update it, something came up and I got distracted. Thankfully, with the whole corona virus thing, I have some time on my hands. I will try my hardest to update as consistently as possible. Thank you to all of the people that have waited patiently for chapter 2! I love you guys so much (p.s. to all of my Sokeefe readers thank you so so much for all of the support!). Alright, enough of my talking. Enjoy the story! :)
- In Sophie's Room -
"Alright, here's how you play." Sophie proceeded to explain all of the rules.
"I'll go first!" Keefe volunteered.
"Okay Keefe, truth or dare?" Biana asked.
"Dare. Truths are for cowards," Keefe teased.
"Hmmm. I dare you to...tell your crush that you like them!" Everyone burst into laughter as Keefe shrank away into a corner.
"Ugh, whyyyyyyy," Keefe whined.
"It's a dare! You have to do it. Plus, you're the one who said truths are for cowards," Linh declared.
"Fiiiiine. I like...Biana. I've liked you since the day I kissed you on your cheek that day on a dare. I didn't want to tell you because...well because I didn't know if you liked me back. Keefe confessed. "Do you...?"
"I do," Biana blurted out.
Sophie sat across from Biana in shock. Wait, I thought she liked Tam. Sophie looked at Linh, who was looking at Biana, who shot a what did I just do?! look back at the both of them. Ah, so she does like Tam. Shoot, how are we supposed to get her out of this mess? Sophie thought to herself.
"Really? Oh my gosh, this whole time I thought you had a thing for Tam-"
"What?! Who- How- I- uhhhh-"
"I guess she didn't," Sophie interrupted. Fitz sat on Sophie's flowered carpet, bewildered, by the truth that had been revealed in this game of anxiety and truthfulness. Meanwhile, Tam had disappeared under Sophie's bed, dying of embarassment.
"Why did I think that she liked me? Of course she chose Keefe. I'm nowhere near good enough for her," Tam said to himself. A single tear slipped down the side of his face. He then became aware of the fact that he was being emotional around his friends and composed himself. Tam slipped out from underneath the bed on a side where no one was sitting. He stood up to find Biana about to explode into tears, Sophie horrified by what had just happened, and Keefe with his arm around Biana. It made him want to slide back under the bed and hide there forever. A voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Tam! There you are. Where were you?" Linh asked.
"Uhh...um...b-bathroom. Anyways, what, uh, what happened here? You know, while I was, uh, gone?" he asked.
"Oh, um, Keefe and Biana figured out that they liked each other," Fitz said hesitantly. His arm laid around Sophie's shoulder.
"C-cool," Tam stuttered in response. The rest of the night was super awkward. Tam was glaring at Keefe, who was oblivious to Tam's crush on Biana, and Biana looked like she was about to cry. Later that night, the boys headed to the guest room and the girls settled into their sleeping bags in Sophie's room. Once Sophie and Linh were one-hundred percent sure that the boys were no longer in eavesdropping distance, they practically attacked Biana with questions.
"We thought you liked Tam! What happened?" the two girls asked in unison.
"I don't know!" Biana yelled, a little bit too loudly. "I don't know," she said quietly. She burst into tears and told the whole story.
"I don't even like him! Everything was going just fine until I gave Keefe that dare. I walked in with Tam after talking to him in the pastures, and after our little talk I was sure that he liked me and I liked him back. Eventually, I knew that I'd get asked who my crush was and I'd have to reveal it. But when I asked Keefe to get everyone on the topic, I had no idea that he would say that he liked me. Then I watched Tam disappear under your bed while everyone was in shock and I wanted to go tell him that I liked him instead of Keefe so badly. I guess I told Keefe that I liked him back in the moment. Plus, I didn't want to hurt his feelings," Biana explained.
"Okay, but you can't go along with this! The longer he believes that you like him, the worse it'll hurt when he finds out that you don't actually have feelings for him. Trust me, I know from experience," Sophie urged.
"I know, but I don't know how to end it. If only I hadn't messed it all up in the first place," she sighed.
"Biana, you're a wonderful person. Tam wouldn't want me telling you this, but I know that he likes you back. You're all he ever talks about. And I think you two would be perfect together. I think you should let him know first that this is all a big mistake and that you like him, not Keefe. Then the two of you can figure out how to break the news to Keefe. Sure, it might end up hurting Keefe's feelings, but I think he can handle it," Linh planned.
The girls' conversation was interrupted by the creak of the door. All of them dropped into a fake sleep. Biana squinted at the figure who opened the door. No way, she thought, shocked. Everyone sat up with wide eyes. It was...
To be continued...
