A/N: Hello everyone! Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long. Also just wanted to let you know that I made an edit in the last chapter and Alden and Della are no longer with them when they were captured. Thank you for all the support on my stories. I never thought I could get this far. I love you all! Enjoy the story! <3

"I thought I'd told you. We're the echoes now."

- IN THE PRESENT -

"The Echoes?!" Sophie exclaimed. This did not bring up good memories. Sophie turned to look at Linh, only to find her shaking.

"W-Why would you c-call it that!!" Linh yelled. Her chains held her back as she tried to throw punches at the newly formed group.

"Well, for one, we knew it would do this to you. And two, we are not a part of some team that kept falling apart and electing a new leader every day anymore. So we wanted a name that would keep us out of the Neverseen's shadow and put us into a whole new light. Besides, our plans are far from the Neverseen's petty arguments," one of the unknown faces explained.

"I guess you've shown that you're not like the Neverseen anymore because we're still alive right now," Biana said sarcastically. Umber mumbled something under her breath and turned away.

"Ha, ha, very funny," Alvar scoffed. "Listen up. You seven are going to do what we say, and if you don't, say goodbye to all of your possessions and loved ones." A screen lights up the dim room, and Sophie is shocked to see her adoptive parents.

"Mom! Dad! Help!" Sophie cries out.

"Awww, does wittle baby Sophie miss her parwents? Guess what you little brat, they can't hear you!" another one of the unknown faces spoke up. It was a deep, male voice.

"Relax, Dean." The final unknown face had spoken. Tam recognized the voice.

"Myra? Is that you?" Tam asked.

"Tam, Tam, Tam. Long time no see," she teased.

"You got out of Exillium and this is what you decided to do?" While Tam talked to "Myra," Sophie slipped inside of his consciousness.

What do you think you're doing?! Who is this girl? Why is she here? Can we trust her?  A million other questions ran through Sophie's head, but she was startled when she heard Fitz's voice. He must have been listening in on the conversation.

Tam, we need information on this girl. Quick.

When Tam didn't reply, Sophie and Fitz looked at each other, then lied back down on their cots.

"Yes, Tam, I believe that this is time well spent. A life well-lived. A group worth investing my commitment into--" Tam cut Myra off.

"I-I'm sorry," Tam said through a laugh. "Did you just say...commitment?" He then burst out laughing, something that none of his friends had seen before. Biana's face began to turn red.

"I did. You got a problem with that?!" Myra exclaimed.

"Okay, okay. Settle down now. Alright, do you really want to know why you have all been brought here and why we have security footage of your parents?" Umber asked. Tam regained his composure as Sophie replied,

"Yes, we do."

The third unknown face, whose name turned out to be Regan, explained to the group of friends that they had security footage of their parents to make sure that nothing bad happened to them.

"But why would you care about them? Aren't you the 'bad guys?'" Dex asked.

Regan cleared her throat. "No, we aren't. Well, we like to believe that we aren't. We've brought you here because we want to recruit you to be a part of the Echoes."
