A/N: Hello everyone! Welcome to chapter 8 of my Tiana story! Thank you all so much for almost 400 reads on this story and 9K reads on my Sokeefe story! It means a lot to me. Alright, that's all I have to say. Enjoy :)

- PREVIOUSLY -

"Boss, come look at this," a voice said.

"Hmm. So they're onto something. We need a distraction. Some fake event to keep them away from the crystals. They can't fix the Imparters, or we're doomed. Sophie and her friends can't find out that we work for the Neverseen. If they do, we're going to be eliminated," an deep distorted voice answered.

The Echoes were a branch of the Neverseen. And Sophie and her friends had fallen right into their trap.

- IN THE PRESENT AT THE LIVING QUARTERS -

As Dex analyzed the substance that Tam had found on the crystals in the room around them, Sophie sat on her bunk watching Biana and Tam talk to each other. They're so cute. I wish I had what they do, she thought to herself. She glanced at Fitz, who flashed his adorable smile at her, and then at Keefe, who "waltzed" over to her in a way that made her laugh.

"Why're you staring at me, Foster? Waiting for something? Or should I say someone," Keefe teased. Sophie punched him playfully in the arm.

"Stop it," she laughed. Could Keefe and I have what they have? Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden cheer from Dex.

"I did it! I found out what this stuff is and how to use it!" His face was bright with success. "It's called dissolvence. It's a rare type of rubber that's extremely delicate, which is why it crumbled when you tried to move it, Tam," Dex explained.

"Sounds cool! Can I touch it?" Keefe asked eagerly.

"Sure," Dex replied. Keefe picked up some of the substance off of the crystal next to him. It coated his entire hand. "Here, can you try and touch this?" Dex asked. He touched the Imparter that Dex was holding up with his coated hand. Nothing happened.

"Yes! I think I can finally--" Dex was interrupted by announcement from the leaders of the Echoes.

"Attention everyone! Today, a meeting will be held in the Hexagon. Please proceed to the Hexagon as soon as possible. See you there," the P.A. system announced.

"Well, let's get going. We can finish this when we get back," Linh said.

The group headed over to the Hexagon; the meeting space of the Echoes. Sophie and her friends had never seen the entire group, and they were shocked at the number of people at the Hexagon. Around one hundred elves were surrounding a stage at the center of the space.

"Greetings everyone, and welcome to another of our gatherings. We welcome some of our newest members today: Sophie Foster, Fitz Vacker, Keefe Sencen, Dex Dizznee, Linh Song, Tam Song, and Biana Vacker. You may know them as Team Valiant, some of the many faces of the Council. Please treat them with the same respect as your leaders and community here. There's a couple of announcements we'd like to make at today's meeting," Myra announced.

There was a chatter amongst the crowd as the next speaker, Dean, took the stage. Sophie looked around the Hexagon. Suddenly, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. It felt like someone was watching her. She glanced at each of the corners of the Hexagon and realized that the guards were watching her. Sophie tapped Biana on the shoulder.

"Hey, look at the guards in the corners of the Hexagon. Don't you think it's weird that they're watching us?"

"Yeah, I'm getting a bad feeling about this," Biana replied. She told Tam, who was right next to her, about the guards. Word quickly spread among the group of friends.

"We just have to wait for this meeting to be over, and then we can go back to our quarters and talk to our parents. Everything's going to be fine," Dex said. Everyone nodded.

"The first announcement of the night is about our living quarters. We will be changing them. Almost all of you will be moved to different rooms. We're sorry about the inconvenience, but it needed to be done. Secondly--" Dean stated. His voice was cut off by the uproar of telepathic thoughts.

What in the world?! Why would they need to change the quarters?

Do you think they're onto us?

This is getting dangerous. I think we should leave.

What if we're trapped?

What if we'll never see our families again?

All of these questions ran through the heads of Sophie's friends as they tried to listen to the last announcement.

"Finally, we've come to the decision that nobody in our organization will have any contact with the outside world. We will stay here in our quarters as long as needed. There's plenty of rations. No need to go anywhere," Dean finished.

This sent the audience into an uproar. Sophie and her friends snuck back to their original quarters. They weren't going to let any of this happen.
