1. Goodnight
I look at her and feel happy
She is smiling
Soft and steady breaths
A peaceful angel
I look at her again and feel worried
She is frowning
Small fists gripping the blanket
Light sheen of sweat on her forehead
I wish I could wake her up
Get her out of it
Soothe the troubles away
I am frozen and stuck
I fall backwards
In the deep darkness.
2. Nightmare
Marshmallow skin
Chocolate hair
Blueberry eyes
Brown sugar on the hills
Dark-sky-tainted sore skin
Red-streaked tangled hair
Poison-purple circled eyes
Strawberry-red droplets running
Innocent
Happy drunk messy little
Girl.
Broken
Emotion motion less
Woman.
3. Queen of the night
High heels, low top
Low content, high spirits
It's all about the sparkles and bold lips
All bow to the queen of the night
She turns all heads in the room
Sways her hips, licks her lips
Tips another drink back
The night is her stage and the eyes are her lights
She walks out with a wink
Under the stars
And her smile cracks when all wears off
She curls up in her cold bed
Then scoffs at the ceiling
Nobody cries for the queen, nor should they.
4. One-night stand
I close my eyes to whale-killing
Just to spread that blood red
Your lips will erase from mine
In a deliciously messy way
