Don't forget to like and comment! And please leave ideas if you have any, I would love to incorporate them into my book.

Toni's POV
When we arrive outside of Pop's, I climb of and offer Cheryl my hand so that I can help her off as well, and that pinkish, reddish blush covering her cheeks immediately makes my heart beat faster.

But after helping her off, I don't let go of her hand, but I don't think she minds me holding her hand anyways, because she's smiling down at our joined hands, still blushing.

"So, what can you order here?" she asks as we go to sit opposite from each other in my favorite booth, and I immediately missed the feeling of her hand in mine.

"Oh, they have the best milkshakes, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and even cherry flavored ones. And they serve the best hamburgers and fries, which is totally my favorite." I tell her, and I couldn't help but to chuckle when she started to smile from excitement.

"What?" she asks sounding confused about why I'm laughing, so I just explain that "You're really cute when you get excited." and god help me, because she's about to steal my heart completely..

"Oh, thanks I guess.." she blushes, obviously flustered by my compliment. "I just got excited when you said that they serve cherry milkshakes, they're my favorites." she shyly admits.

"Cool, I personally prefer the chocolate one, but the cherry one is a close second."

---
After ordering, and getting our food, we decided to just talk for a bit before beginning with our assignment, so that we can get to know each other a little bit better.

"So, have you decided on what extra curricular you want to join?" I ask, and she immediately answered that "Yeah, I believe so. I was thinking of maybe joining the cheer squad." Take your chance Toni!

"Oh really!? Me too. They're actually having tryouts on Friday after school. So I'll be seeing you there?" I say, which is a complete lie.. I have never even let the idea of joining the cheer squad enter my mind before..

"Oh, that's cool. And yeah, I'll see you there on Friday." she agrees, smiling that adorable smile before taking a sip of her cherry milkshake.

"What about your family? Any si-" I stopped speaking when I heard Cheryl coughing, after swallowing her milkshake incorrectly.

"You okay Cher?" I ask, feeling a bit concerned about what actually caused that reaction.. Maybe she doesn't like to talk about her family or something, which I guess is cool..

"I, I'm good... But we should probably get started with this assignment.." I couldn't help but to wonder why she's acting like this all of the sudden.. Just because I asked her a question, maybe this has something to do with her avoiding people?

"Toni?"

"Huh?" I snap out of it, immediately feeling embarrassed, because how long have I been in my own little bubble!?

"I was asking you if you would like to share any ideas?" she says, but I swear that I could see the tears she kept forcing back by blinking more often.

"Uhm.. Yeah, sure.." I said, looking into her eyes to see if she was okay, trying to read her, but she quickly looked away from me, and at anything other than me instead.

"Uhm, so we decided on the topic of freedom," I still couldn't get the way she explained freedom to me earlier..

"When you're finally allowed to be happy." I swear that it's the finally allowed part that is bothering me so much, because to me at least, that implies that she's talking out of experience..
