Cheryl's POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm, about to stretch when I realized that I was actually comfortable and well-rested for once. For the first time since I was 12 years old.

Yes, I still had some nightmares, but at least I didn't wake up in a complete panic again.

So I tilted my head up carefully, just to find Toni looking down at me with a big smile on her face, immediately making my heart go crazy. But when does it not when she's around?

"Morning sleeping beauty." she says, lightly stroking some of my hair out of my face, and that beautiful smile never left her face, making me extremely flustered.

"Slept well?" she asks, smiling down at me, and I found myself indulged in her beautiful eyes, just nodding in response. Afraid that I wouldn't be able to find any words in my current state of awe.

"Me too, you get warm when you sleep. It actually helped me fall asleep." she admits, continously stroking my cheek with her thumb. And I know that we should probably get ready for school, but her touch was just so nice against my face, making me want to go back to sleep in her embrace again.

But Toni quickly noticed me falling back asleep, and stopped caressing my face, giggling slightly, causing me to blush yet again. But honestly, I don't really mind..

"We should get ready for school Cherry." she smiled, and the nickname she gave me was all it took for my heart to start pounding yet again.

"Okay." is all I can say in reply, still struggling to hide my blush from her, but obviously she knew what effect she had on me already.

"You're cute." she state, half teasingly, half seriously, and I swear, in that very moment, I realized that I was falling in love with Toni, and it was happening quickly.

---
After getting ready and dressed for school, we stopped by the kitchen to grab something to eat on the go, and my mom walked out just in time to see us.

"Oh? Hi girls. Who's this Cheryl?" my mom asks, looking at me for an answer, before turning her gaze over to Toni, glaring holes in her head..

"Mom, this is Toni, my art project partner, she's fine, she's not dangerous." I reassured her, because I could tell that my mom was tense, not knowing what kind of people I was hanging out with. She was calming down, but she was still a little tense.

"Nice to meet you Toni." I could tell by the tone of my mom's voice that she was trying to stay nice to her, even though she clearly already dislikes her for some reason I don't know about.

So I figured it would be best if me and Toni left early for school, to avoid my mother's dramatics.. But I can't say I don't understand her, which is why I'm not mad at her.

I've done some things that lead her to constantly worry about me, so I truly don't have the rights to get mad with her when she's only looking out for me.

---
We decided to take my car to school, just because we wanted to go together, and since we were planning on going back to my place after school to continue working on our assignment.

When we arrived at the school parking lot, we were seemingly the first ones there, which isn't that weird considering that we left 30 minutes early.

But before we noticed, the bell rang, and the halls of Riverdale high was buzzing with students running around to get to their home rooms, including me and Toni.

---
Today felt really slow for some reason, but I couldn't understand why, maybe I was just looking at the clock to many times.

But finally, the bell rang, indicating that it was lunch, which usually wouldn't excite me, but today it did, because maybe I could convince Toni to sit with me.
