Tine's eyelids soon began to feel heavy from bearing all the weight of the early morning and the school day. And it didn't help that he was lounging on a bed, wrapped warmly in a blanket while doing his homework. The combination of comfort from his working position and the boredom from his work itself made him immensely drowsy. Tine tapped his pencil lightly on his paper before turning his head to check the time. The clock on the wall read 8:03 pm. He let out a soft sigh. Five hours, he thought. He slowly moved his eyes from their position on the wall and over to the man next to him. His gaze fell upon the man softly, taking in the peaceful sight of the latter's long bangs lightly laying on his forehead as his neck craned down to check the finger placement on his guitar's neck. Five hours since we came back to Sarawat's place.
Most of the afternoon has been filled with silent working, except of course for the random bits of sarcastic yet flirty commentary from Sarawat and the shy, nervous responses from Tine. They had smiled and laughed quite a bit, stealing glances at the other whenever they needed a break from their individual work. With each glance, Tine felt like he was getting more and more used to being near the guitarist. It was almost as if Sarawat's presence calmed him, not that Tine needed to be calmed. Actually he hadn't felt nervous since Sarawat guided him away from his friends earlier, and what a heart attack that conversation had been, Tine laughed to himself and shook his head. But, looking back at the man on his left, Tine realized that it was the fact that Sarawat, sitting as closely as he was while peacefully strumming his guitar, that was the reason for the smile which now sat proudly on his face as well as the heightened beat of his heart, which despite its activeness, Tine felt overwhelming comfortable for once.
Tine turned his eyes back to focus on his own work, noticing he had taken himself down quite the distraction trail. However, his focus was quickly lost again when he heard the strumming disappear just before he felt fingers slide through his hair. Tine's eyes flicked up. Sarawat looked at him warmly, a small grin forming on his lips.
"Keep your eyes on your homework, will ya?," the singer laughed, "If you keep staring at me, I won't be able to pay attention to the music." Sarawat's fingers glided through Tine's hair, giving the cheer leader the soft affection that he desired. The musician noticed how Tine leaned into his touch which only made it so much more difficult for him to steal his hand away from its place on his crush's head.
As much as he wanted to continue to caress the cheer leader's head, Sarawat had to practice. He slowly moved his hand from Tine's head and placed it back on his guitar. The latter unconsciously frowned at the loss of the affection. Sarawat saw this expression and laughed: "You should see your face!"
Tine's frown was quickly replaced with surprise. What face? He questioned, What had I shown? His eyes darted around the room looking for answers before falling on Sarawat who still seemed to be laughing at him. Tine frowned again, but this time it was a conscious response to Sarawat's teasing.
"Oh come on," Sarawat continued to chuckle, "It's not like I'm stealing anything from you," the guitarist began. He leaned a closer to Tine, allowing his face to near the latter's. By the time Sarawat stopped moving, their faces were at best two inches away from each other. Tine's eyes jumped from one warm brown iris to another, before landing on Sarawat's mouth, which had begun to move again, "Unless, you don't want me to stop touching you . . ." The speaker trailed off, searching Tine's eyes for his own answers, looking for any hint of desire. "Is that what you want, Tine?" the singer's voice dipped lower as the other man's name rolled off his tongue.
With Sarawat so close and teasing him so plainly, Tine could feel that his calm was soon growing into bashful nervousness. In all honesty, he hadn't wanted Sarawat to stop touching him, but how Sarawat just spoke made Tine think that he wasn't talking about just playing with his hair. Does he want to touch somewhere else . . . Tine's brain began to wonder, sending his tongue to dart across his lips as subconscious response to his increasingly lustful thoughts. The one thing that pulled him out of his head was the fact that Sarawat's face had gotten significantly closer. The musician's lips were now parted as he leaned ever closer to his crush. With every centimeter Sarawat's face neared Tine's, the latter's heart beat that much faster. Knowing Sarawat's lips would be on him any second, Tine opened his own mouth and closed his eyes.
