As expected, Inuyasha was in a wealthy inn with Miroku, Shippo, and Kagome. Kairii ran down the arm of the oni long before Jaken would think to use it against them. Sesshomaru wasted no time engaging Inuyasha, so Kairii drew her sword and engaged Miroku. She needed to keep Miroku off kilter until the exact moment when he'd step in to use the Wind Tunnel in his right hand.

"Why do you do this?!" Miroku demanded as he blocked her sword with his staff, "You seem nothing but a human!" she narrowed her eyes. She wasn't exactly what he'd call human.

"Looks are deceiving, monk." she said, attacking him. He pushed her back. She let him, her eyes narrowing at the fight behind him. What was going on? Why hadn't Sesshomaru claimed Tetsusaiga yet? He had the hand, the method, everything. Unless...

Unless her presence interfered earlier in the story. Was it possible that her giving Sesshomaru InuTaisho's energy had been a bad idea? Was he going into this battle still weakened? If that was the case, she needed to put the story right. She needed to disarm Inuyasha. As she looked around for a method, she spied Kagome, and her bow and quiver.

"Sorry Miroku, but I have things to do." she flipped and jumped over him, landing near Kagome. She immediately grabbed Kagome's bow and an arrow.

"Stay away from her!" Inuyasha shouted. Sesshomaru blocked his advance towards Kairii.

"Kagome!" Kairii said sharply, pulling the bow from Kagome's grip, "Can I borrow you?!"

"What?!" Kagome looked startled, "My bow?!" Kairii leaned forward and kissed Kagome's cheek. Immediately she felt spiritual energy fill her. She hopped away from Kagome and raised the bow, nocking the arrow.

"Thanks, Kagome." Kairii narrowed her eyes, and then shot the Tetsusaiga. The arrow zipped past the bowstring as the string snapped against Kairii's arm hard enough to draw blood. Sacred energy surrounded the arrow as it struck the Tetsusaiga, reverting it back into a rusty sword. Inuyasha jerked in surprise and looked at her. Which gave Sesshomaru time to claw his younger brother, sending him flying. Kairii dropped the bow, since Kagome would need it again, and moved away. Miroku needed to get poisoned. Which meant he had to open the Wind Tunnel on a Tetsusaiga-wielding Sesshomaru. So Sesshomaru needed Tetsusaiga. His hand closed around the handle. Thank goodness.

"Kai." Sesshomaru's voice surprised her, "Return to Jaken's side at once." she jolted a little.

"Yes, Sesshomaru-sama." she ran past Miroku and jumped onto the oni's hand, running up it's arm to Jaken. Damn. Now she was in the path of the Wind Tunnel. She took her sword and embedded it deep in the oni's shoulder.

"Foolish woman!" Jaken snapped, "What was that for?!" just as Miroku stepped in front of Inuyasha.

"You'll thank me later." Kairii said grimly, eyes narrowing as Miroku opened the Wind Tunnel. Immediately air yanked at her hair, and she was shocked to see that the bottom two inches of it were dyed black, which faded back into her red hair as it got closer to her scalp. What?! What made that happen?! She caught Jaken's staff as he was lifted off his feet. Yeah. Cause and effect sucked like that. She held tightly to her sword as her feet slid forward into the air.

"AAAAAAH!!!" Jaken screeched, his large yellow eyes widened and filling with tears. She tightened her grip. Any second now, Sesshomaru would throw the Hell Wasp nest. Then the Tunnel would close.

"Hold...on...Jaken!" she gritted, feeling her grip beginning to slip. Terror flashed through her at the same second the wind stopped and she dropped heavily onto the useless demon. She huffed a sigh. Sesshomaru was right. These onis really served no purpose. She pulled her sword out and sheathed it.
