I squinted my eyes hoping that for some strange reason it'd make my vision better. It didn't. If anything, my vision only become a bit blurry and I pursed my lips, annoyed."Where are you." I asked, my voice dripping with frustration.
"I'm right here, my Lord requests you follow me."
How? I can't see her?
And as if she'd heard me the sound of her heels, stepping away from me echoed through the hall. How did I not hear that? A faint golden shimmer of dust lingered where she'd touched me and it started to trail down the hallway. I tilted my head and examined the feather like shimmer as it fluttered through the air.
"Come on. We don't have all day and you really don't want to keep the Master waiting."
That's two names she'd called him.
Shrugging I followed the golden shimmer on the group. As we walked vines had even started to curl around something and small pink and yellow flowers bloomed on the vines. They were wrapping around something, a figure. The girl was still invisible, but now that I could see where she stood I become a little less tense.
"Why are there vines?"
The vines turned and I suspect that meant that she had also turned to face her,"It helps doesn't it. The Master gave them to me as a gift. "
It was a beautiful gift and i just nodded silently, starring at the girl,"How old are you?" It was a normal question and one I thought would help me understand her a bit more.
"I'm fourteen."
Shock weaved through my blood, from my toes to my hips and all the way to my head. She's that young?
"Why can't I see you?" I suddenly felt stupid all of a sudden for not asking this question sooner.
It was silent for a while whilst we walked along the hallway and when the girl let out a sigh she answered with a,"It's complicated."

We stopped, facing a big double door and a small knock sounded. Looking around me, everything was the same; the carpet was still the same as were the walls and paintings. However, windows paved the right side of the wall or at least what looked to be. The 'windows' were just gaping wholes that let a pale, almost cold sunlight drip through and I could even feel the wind washing past us.
"Come in."
It was the same voice I'd heard before. Dark and dangerous, the very same one that had yelled at me to get out. I felt my muscles tense, there was something else about that voice that I couldn't quite place. It sounded like someone I'd heard before this, before id been pushes through a brick wall and woken up in a very strange world.
My calm exterior surprised me and I almost wanted to urge myself to drop into a ball in the corner of a room, any room and just cry. Cry until I couldn't cry any more and cry into my lungs gave out or collapsed and my body for limp on the floor from exhaustion until I had no more tears left to cry until I swam in a sea of emotions and fear. Fear that group to me by the head, by my hair and never let go.
The door was pushed open and in front of me sat a man. He was too big, even for the chair he sat on. Muscles bulged from his white button and his face was all sharp edges and lines. And even though we sit down, his frame was much taller than mine. I couldn't see his face since the lights were off, but the sunlight from the windows outside and inside the office helped me gaze at his frame. In a way he almost reminded me of a gorilla. A giant dark haired grizzly beast.
"She's here." His voice was gruff and set on edge instantly and my tensed once more.
"Just as you request my Lord." He nodded once and I felt the warm air around me turn cold, she must've left. I didn't turn around to look, afraid I'd accidentally disrespect this man by turning my back and stayed put. The sound of the door shutting quietly behind me told me that she'd left.
"What's your name?" My head snapped from the floor I'd suddenly found to be far more interesting then his scary face.
Gulping I answered with a short,"Annalise." His voice had panicked me and caused me to spill my full name instead of the shorter version I'd had people call me. Anna. No one called me Annalise.
"Are you aware of the situation you're in Annalise?"
I shook my head and started,"I don't really know where I am or how to get back Sir." He smirked and suddenly I'd wished I had asked for his name instead.
"Well, i won't be the one to explain, Ms Maria will," In the far left corner of the room stood a lady, I could see her this time. She must be this Ms Maria he spoke of."My name is Vin." The was the last thing he said before standing and turning on his heels to walk out the doors behind me. He was tall and his head almost touched the top of the door. He was bulky but I still couldn't see much of him as the sunlight had begun to fade.
Moved from the corner where Ms Maria stood caught my attention and I spun around to face her,"Are you Ms Maria?"
The lady chuckled quietly and whispered a small,"Yes dear, just call me Maria. Follow me I will show you around the place."

"What's going on?" I still didn't understand why I was here or how to get back and I intend to find out as a burst of fake confidence washed over me.
Maria turned to me, her face as white as the snow I'd fall on last night and lips that were a soft glistening pink glistening. Her eyes were dark, almost black but not quite. She smiled down at me, her 4 inch heels gave her a height I didn't have and even if she didn't have thoughts on she'd probably still be taller then me by a few inches.
"I suspected you didn't know, the you are the humans candidate to be the Kings wife."
I blinked a few times before letting the words sink in completely. Wife. Candidate. King. The cogs in my brain fumbles and cut as I tried to stop myself from tripping over the carpet under my bear feet.
"What!?"
