A week passed by and Malia had gotten closer to Stiles Stilinski, sure he was a good guy and all, but her main intention with this 'friendship' was to use him to leave that place.
Kisa's voice was quieter and Malia could almost feel that her strength was leaving her body, of course the coyote didn't know how Kisa's usually tan skin was turning grey or that her once hickory eyes were now pitch black with veins underneath.
She didn't know how Kisa's throat was dry or how her teeth were longer and sharper, or how her wavy hair that seemed like the rich soil of the valleys after spring rains, almost black in the shadows, was tangled and lifeless, she didn't know how Kisa was slowly dying.
"Beasty, if we get out of here... I want a coffee milkshake... actually, make it 5" Malia heard the hoarse voice of her friend, a small frown showing on her face as she looked confused at the wall.
"What's a coffee milkshake?" Malia's hesitant voice made a gasp come from underground, she could almost imagine the girl dramatically putting her hand on her forehead and fake death, making her roll her chocolate eyes with a small smile playing on her lips.
"Just the best thing ever! After puppies, of course" Kisa replied, smiling to herself as she laid down on the ground, looking at the ceiling.
"Of course" Malia repeated, a soft laughter leaving her lips as she too looked at the ceiling.
"Do you think we can have a puppy?" Kisa's voice got quieter now, it was time for the torture, she could hear the footsteps getting closer to her cell.
Malia frowned, closing her eyes as she heard the door being opened and the hissing coming from her friend when she was forced to walk out of the room.
"Yeah... we can have a puppy, Kit" Malia whispered, looking intently at the water that kept leaving her eyes and falling on her hands, not really understanding why it was happening.
"... Thank you, beasty" it was so quiet that Malia didn't know if she had imagined it or not.
"Do you believe in the supernatural?" Malia asked bluntly as soon as she heard the chains moving, that indicated that her only friend had woken up, hearing a weak giggle coming from the basement.
The werecoyote was laying on the hard bed, her head upside down as she looked at her clawed hand with a small glare.
On the other room, Kisa was at the same position, but her eyes were focused on the chains around her neck, arms and legs, dripping wet from the one poison that could hurt her.
"I guess..." was the only reply Malia got, making her frown deepen as she tried to pull her claws back.
"Mmm what's your favorite food?" Kisa asked, looking away from the chains, knowing pretty well that they wouldn't melt under her harsh glare, believe it, she had tried.
"Deer" Malia said without hesitation, making the brunette beauty laugh loudly, groaning as it only made the pain worse.
"Vampires or werewolves?" The questions continued, but Malia didn't mind, she knew that Kisa was a curious person and decided that if she couldn't help her get out of there, she would entertain the stranger until they finally escaped.
"Werecoyotes" Malia answered with a smirk, making Kisa frown, thinking for a moment before she nodded to herself.
"That's interesting, I've never thought about it" Kisa whispered to herself, not knowing that Malia could hear what she was saying.
"I'm more of a vampire's girl" The brunette said confidently, her own smirk raising as she closed her eyes, getting lost on her mind.
Malia snorted in amusement, noticing the change in her friend's behavior, she was better today. Malia had gotten closer to Stiles in the meantime and it was only a matter of time till she believed that his pack would get him out.
When the coyote told her friend the news, she could instantly notice how hopeful she got, she looked even stronger now, even though Malia knew that she was in pain.
"What? Don't believe in vampires? Don't tell me you really think someone had the amazing idea of creating such a thing like that out of the craziness of their mind" Kisa complained, her mind wrapping around all the myths she knew as a real smile appeared on her face.
"The myth started in the late 17th century, although I believe that it goes way before, they just put a name on it later, finally rising the legend" Kisa giggled, images of all the books that she read passing through her mind as she continued talking.
"Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula, such a charmer huh? Starting the tales about Transylvania since he was born there... mmm do you know why he got the title?" A wave of excitement hit Malia hard, making her smile widen unconsciously.
"I guess he liked to impale people" Malia answered, imagine a charming man impaling hundreds of people.
"Not everyone, just his enemies" Kisa corrected, a knowing tone to her voice.
"People believe that it's only a myth and in reality just a plague was the responsible of so many deaths in such a short period, who knows? ... Mercy Brown, not as famous as Dracula, but her story was interesting too" Malia started to think about what Kisa was saying and they actually made sense, in some twisted way.
"The way you talk seems like you'd like to meet a vampire, Kit" the coyote teased, but their amusement was cut short as the doctors came back for the torture again.
Malia clenched her jaw, growling loudly at this, she didn't even hear what Kisa said before she was taken by the doctors.
In nothing more than a whisper, the brunette girl smirked darkly as she said "I loved it" before her face changed into her usual blank one and the torture started.
