Malachai Parker had lost his hope of his demon finding him after 10 years of isolation.
He really did think she would suddenly pop out of nowhere, like she usually did, with that bloody smirk playing on her lips and those infuriating hickory orbs that seemed to know more about him than he did.
His routine would then be, get up, steal the abandoned market for food, try a new method of suicide and when that inevitably failed, in hopes of getting out of that he'll one day and having the knowledge for future tortures, obviously, watch the sunset... my bad, the comet, for the umpteenth time and go to sleep on his demon's late house.
He surely would not be comfortable on his own.
That didn't stop him from occasionally visiting it, however, and breaking the house down to pieces, which would, unfortunately, be reconstructed on the next morning.
Kisa would always tell him to break something whenever he was angry, since there were no bones he could fracture for now, he decided to project his anger on the bricks.
And his father still had the courage to call him unstable, tsk, can you believe that guy?
Kai rolled his eyes, eating another handful of pork rinds as he chewed loudly.
He hated the silence.
It made him slightly psychotic...
"What if that Ken dude killed her?" The siphoner wondered out loud, his dark blue eyes going to the ceiling as his brain lost the entire focus of the previous thought and he started to count how many boards had been used to build the ceiling.
His attention span was short, he knew that, Kisa had taken him to a doctor when he showed her his grades, which were very low by the way, even when he had passed the entire month with her helping him study.
They found out he had ADHD and the doc prescribed him some stimulants to help him focus his thoughts... the doc had not intended on him focusing on a murder, obviously, but oh well.
It did work!
Kinda...
His dad had been such an asshole that he didn't even let Kai take his meds to the prison world and with nothing to do for years and no treatment, the siphoner didn't have to be a doctor to tell that his condition had worsened.
His point was just proven when he discovered that somewhere along the way, his mind had driven away and he was staring blankly at the wood.
