As they rode up toward a camp, they were greeted by a woman.
"How did you get on?"
"We got him.." Dutch replied. "And another here." He instructed his horse to turn to show Ruth off like a sort of prize.
The woman gave Ruth a glance, then back at Dutch.
The others soon arrived at camp and were greeted as well. In that time, Dutch dismounted and helped Ruth off of his horse.
"Stay next to me." He told her as he walked toward the others.
"What were you thinkin' Williamson!" The man was being scolded by the woman.
Ruth half hid behind Dutch.
"We'll deal with this later." He said to them, then turning to Ruth.
All their eyes were on her.
"I'm so sorry." She blurted out, looking at each of them.
Dutch put a hand on Ruth's shoulder then looked at the other woman.
"Miss Grimshaw.. would you get this woman fixed up."
Ruth was instructed to follow this 'Miss Grimshaw' so she did, and diligently; assuming she was the matriarch of their group.
'What have I gotten myself into?' she asked herself internally.
Ruth was led to a wagon with canopy's over some bedrolls.
"I can assume there's a reason Mr. Van Der Linde took you in, and since that's the case, this is where you'll be sleeping." She told her.
"W-what.." Ruth said quietly, unaware that she had no choice in the matter at hand.
"You don't look too.. comfortable.. in those clothes." She commented.
Ruth looked down at her body, she didn't think to prepare for the day properly, she had no intention of leaving Valentine. Either way, she was right.
"Let's get you fixed up, Miss..?"
"Bucker! Ruth Bucker." She replied, feeling oddly embarrassed.
"Alright Miss Bucker, you can borrow clothes from the other women, for the time being. Now get dressed properly!"
"Yes ma'am."
"There's a large tent in the center of camp, meet us there when you're done."
Ruth nodded and proceeded to get dressed, hiding herself behind the wagons. She didn't know the dress code, if it existed, nonetheless she put on a simple skirt and sensible shirt.
Once dressed, she tossed her pair of clothes to the side and shyly walked more into camp, a couple people stared at her, but she ignored it and made her way to the tent in the center of camp, like instructed.
Ruth brought her hands together and cleared her throat, Susan and Dutch turned to look at her.
"Miss Bucker." Dutch greeted.
"Mr. Van Der Linde here was telling me about that little stunt you pulled in Valentine.." She began. "You've got some nerve."
Ruth took a step into the tent, where the drapes were closed behind her. Dutch gestured her to sit next to him on his cot, so she did.
"I'm so sorry, I don't know why I did it."
"Do you know him?" Dutch asked.
"Who?"
"Bill."
"I don't.."
"Then why did you go and kill a lawman to save a stranger?" Susan asked.
