🌹Annie's Pov🌹

I took my books out of my locker and went to first period. I could already hear Ms. Godfrey's yells at me for being late.Whatever. Like I care. I'll just say my car stopped working. She'll believe me.

I walked inside and immediately regretted my actions.

"How delightful that you've decided to finally grace us with your presence, Julliana." Ms. Godfrey said.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"Sorry won't save you this time, Ms. Leblanc." She said in a dramatic voice.

"Let me guess, another detention?" I asked, bored.

"Oh, no no Julliana, I have decided something else for you, as it seems that detention doesn't seem to be doing the trick. How about you become Asher's welcome buddy?" She said, gasping and clapping her hands together.

That's when I noticed the tall guy standing next to her. I could tell he was new because he had this shy look on his face and I had never seen him around school before. Trust me, I would have remembered a face like his.

He had dazzling emerald green eyes, dimples in his cheeks and messy, hazelnut brown hair. His height made me feel really short. He smiled and waved at me, and I waved back. For some reason, he made me feel really self-conscious. Probably because he was practically perfect, and I was..well, me.

I have straight brown hair, and that day, I wore a yellow tank top with black shorts and black vans. I don't think I'm that short, I've grown till Jack's shoulder, so..that's at least one good thing about me. My skin is like an acne habitat! I normally put on a lot of concealer, some mascara and some bronzer. I normally don't wear that much makeup on school days, but when I'm partying, I go full on.

Anyways, back to the class.

"Uh, what are you talking about?" I asked Ms. Godfrey, confused as hell.

"Julliana, we have a new student in our class, Asher Angel." She said, gesturing towards Asher.

"Hi, Julliana." He said.

"Please, call me Annie." I told him. I hate it when people call me by my first name.

"Julliana, I'd like you to be Asher's welcome buddy for about a month. Help him settle in a little, you know, make some friends. Asher, Julliana will show you around the school during lunch. I hope you two become good friends. Asher, you can take a seat next to Annie."

I sat down in my seat, which was in the back, and Asher took the seat next to mine. I was confused by Ms. Godfrey. Why would she pair me up with Asher? She absolutely hates me, and the feeling is mutual! She knows that I always get detention and am considered the "bad girl" by half of the school. Maybe she thinks that if Asher and I become friends, he would help me calm down a little. I glanced over at him. He was actually taking notes! Or was he writing down questions? I looked up at the board and saw that Godfrey had already assigned 5 questions for homework! I hurriedly grabbed my notebook and noted them down, whilst thinking, "Well this is going to be an interesting month."
