Marcie and I tried to ignore the consistent BEEP BEEP BEEP-ing of the alarm clock, but we just couldn't. It was too irritating. We needed to put an end to the noise that made me want to pull a Van Gogh and cut my own ear off.

"Alright!" Marcie screamed at her still buzzing alarm clock, "We get it, we're awake! Now shut up!"

I chuckled, got up from my position on the hard wood floor, and hit the 'off' button on the alarm.

"Oh, right... I knew that..." Marcie stated while shyly looking down.

"Mmhmm, sure you did. Honestly, how do you dress yourself in the morning without my help, Marcie?" I asked sarcastically.

There was a slight pause and then Marcie replied, just as sarcastically as I asked, with an "I don't... My mom still dresses me... and feeds me... and wipes my..."

"Alright! Enough!" I said while laughing. "C'mon, lets go eat breakfast."

Marcie and I raced downstairs towards the kitchen, the aroma of pancakes, bacon, and eggs already tickling at my smelling hole. We each took our seats at the table and dug in. It was delicious. It always was. I've eaten here enough times to be able to say that Marcie's parents sure know how to satisfy my taste buds.

Marcie's family and my family have known each other for 13 years (ever since Marcie and I were 5 years old), which means they know all about my home life, and have always been there for me.

Whether I was going through hard times or good times though, Marcie and I were inseparable then, and continue to be now. We used to stand outside in the backyard by the fence that separates our yards and just play for hours. We'd play until our parents let us out, and stay out until our parents made us come inside. Once we got older, we walked around town, and spent more time at places such as the mall or the movie theater. No matter where we were though, we were almost always together, and that still remains the same.

While Marcie and I were eating, I looked over at my best friend. She really was beautiful. She has dark brown hair that was super thick and curly, but she worked it like no one else ever could. She has sparkling green eyes that were warm and welcoming, and her smile could light up a room. Not to mention her body... By golly that body was to die for! She's 5'5'', super curvy, and has nice headlights and trunk if you know what I mean...

While I was staring at Marcie, Dolly (Marcie's mom) set more pancakes on the table, snapping me out of my trance. After filling up our plates two times, and finishing both servings, Marcie and I headed back upstairs to get dressed.

"Thanks for breakfast mom!" Marcie and I yelled in unison.

"Anytime jackasses!" Dolly yelled back. Goodness how I love this family.

*Marcie's POV*

After breakfast, Lily and I hustled upstairs to get dressed for school. I thanked God that we were seniors, because I can't handle waking up this early anymore. It's really starting to tamper with my beauty sleep.

As Lily picked through the clothes in her bag, trying to decide on an outfit to wear, I couldn't help but admire her. She's been through so much, and yet she's still staying strong. She's never resorted to self harm or anything of the sort to solve her problems, she's maintained good grades, she plays softball and basketball, and she still makes time to visit her brother in the hospital and for her friends to hang out. She's amazing.
