Oh gods, after the stuff that just happened, I think I'll want to hide under my sheets forever.  Let me back up.

Our cabin was playing our weekly game of truth or dare an hour before curfew. We always had Piper come along and join us because there was no way anyone was getting out of a dare with her around. Or a truth for that matter. I was loved to see it used against my siblings, but tonight I found out first hand that it was not a fun experience.

We were sitting in a circle with Piper to my right and Miranda to my left. My back was to the door and in the middle of the circle was a chair. As the game started, like always, it was harmless at first with questions like "Who was your first crush?" or "How long have you been dating ____?" The dares weren't bad either, "I dare you to lick the floor!" "I dare you to scream as loud as possible!" That one caused some problems, but besides that, everything went smooth. My questions and dares were along the lines of

"Who was your dad?"

"A Gardener from West Virginia."

"Who was your best friend in first grade?"

"Miranda."

"I dare you to cover the Hermes cabin in ivy."

The last one I didn't even hesitate. I got up, spun around towards the door, and sauntered right over to Cabin 11. I couldn't stop smiling until I had covered the whole cabin in ivy. Then I started laughing so hard that I cried. The rest of my cabin came out and were right next to me the whole time I was rolling around on the ground, laughing. The Stolls were pissed. They kept banging on the door screaming stuff like "We are so going to get you for this!" "Do you know you messed with?" "We will destroy you blah blah blah." Honestly, that was the most fun I had in ages. Once we collected ourselves, we returned to our cabin. The game resumed and we forgot about the Hermes kids. I didn't even notice that we had gone around the circle once again and it was my turn. Piper smiled mischievously and rubbed her hands together, I was scared as hell.

"Katie, truth or dare?"

"Ummm, uh, truth?"

I knew I picked the wrong answer when everyone started smiling at me, either in pity, or because they wanted to see me suffer.

"What do you think of Travis Stoll?"

I gulped. I had gotten better at resisting charm speak because I had practiced with Piper, but it was still hard to keep my voice inside me. I don't like to be forced to speak,  especially if my mind doesn't agree with what's coming out of my mouth.

"Katie, do you really want me to force you to tell us? I would prefer you to do it on your own."

"Uh huh, I would too."

"Stop being a smart-ass Katie and just answer the question."

I gulped and took a deep breath.

"Well, I uh. Think he's a big jerk who just wants to annoy me to death."

Piper smiled sweetly.

"I know there's more than that, c'mon Katie. Spit it out."

A couple thought went through my mind. When Travis and I first met, how we had become friends. How I had been his first friend. How nice he had been. How he had told me what had been troubling him two nights ago after capture the flag. Him and me telling each other cheesy pick up lines and jokes to cheer each other up. Sure Travis might be an annoying friend. But he was my friend none the less.

"W-well, Travis may be annoying, and stupid, and a jerk and-"

"Just get on with it sis, your taking forever!" My brother Steven called from across the circle.
