I barely moved a muscle all night. After Zach had left, I stayed on the stump for hours. I was to scared to move, even speak to anyone who passed. It wasn't until Corbyn walked by and dragged me to my feet. He tried to talk to me, but I couldn't find the strength. He guided me to his tent and layed me down in what he called "my new home". The words were meant to be comforting, but I think they shattered whatever was left of my heart.
When I woke the next morning, the suns light blinded my eyes. Instantly I remembered last nights events and cursed allowed.
"Hey," a groggy voice spoke, "you had a rough night, go back to bed." I rolled over to see Corbyn already slipping his boots over his feet. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, but it didn't make him look any less exauhsted.
"I should be telling you that," I replied. I copied his actions and slipped on my converse.
"What are you doing?" Corbyn asked, watching me get ready.
"I couldn't sleep so what's the point of trying?" I replied. I stood off the small bed typically used for military and stretched my arms over my head. I groaned at the sensation, there was nothing better then a good stretch. Just as I lowered my arms, the blue eyed boy strolled into the room.
"Perfect, you're already up." He clapped his hands together before extending one out to me. "We didn't exactly have the pleasure of meeting yesterday. I'm Daniel," he smiled brightly, exposing his toothgap and pearly white teeth.
I took his hand hesitantly and gave it a firm shake, "Abby."
"We know." The curly headed boy came in next. I must have looked stunned because he gave a light chuckle, "I'm Jack." I gave a slight nod.
"Is there anyone else coming? Or is this all of you?" I questioned with a raised brow.
"One more," the eldest looking boy entered, "Jonah." He greeted.
"Okay, that's four of you and I know there are five. Fifth is Zach so please tell me that's all?" I almost begged. I'd rather not have to interact with my kidnappers and now intruders.
"That's all," Corbyn reasured me, taking place beside me. "What did you guys want?" He asked, glancing over each boy before us.
"Zach said to hurry up and sent us to get you," Jack said, taking a look over the place.
"He obviously doesn't trust you guys enough if he had to send all three of you." I rolled my eyes and went back to my bed. I grabbed my sweater the dangled off the edge and the gun that was tucked in the night stand.
Over the night, I decided I would gain trust. If I could get them to trust me enough to leave me alone, then I'd make a run for it. It was a good plan, that way if I ever wanted to come back, they would be a little more accepting. Of course I could make up some bullshit excuse like 'I was running from a ravenger when you guys left me, it wasn't my fault'.
"He trusts us just fine," Jonah scoffed, dragging me back to reality, "he just doesn't trust you."
To be fair, I wouldn't either.
"C'mon," Daniel spoke up, "It's time for training."
I walked behind the guys, watching as they messed around with one another. I noticed how they liked to poke fun at Jacks height, or how they made fun of how whipped Jonah and Corbyn were for their girlfriends. I wondered how Corbyn's took to me staying with him.
"Don't worry. She knows I'm to scared of her to cheat," he had reassured me when I asked him. I also noticed how Daniel was picked on for his voice cracks. I wondered if they made fun of Zach that way too.
"He's usually not as up tight as he is right now. He's under alot of stress, being the," he paused, using air quotes for his next words, "leader of the camp." He rolled his eyes. "He doesn't realize we are all in this together."
"It also doesnt help that his parents went missing, putting him in charge without even saying why. Now he has to take care of his little sister, brother, the camp, and now you." Jack put in. I stopped.
"What do you mean me? I can take care of myself thank you very much. Plus, it isn't my fault you guys wouldn't let me go." I pointed out things that made the others squirm.
"Look, Abby-" Corbyn started, but as Zach came into view, he stopped talking.
"It's about time," Zach said as he made his way over to us. What a nice greeting.
"Chill dude, it's still early." Jonah said, walking past Zach and giving him a pat on the back. He then disappeared behind a line of trees.
"C'mon," Jack said, walking to the same place Jonah had. The other's had followed him till it was just me and Zach alone.
"Didn't expect to see you this early," I said. I shifted uncomfertably on my feet.
"I need to see what you can do," he said, looking me up and down.
"Alot more then you think," I told him before walking in the same direction as the guys.
When I walked behind the trees, I saw a sight that made me happy for the first time in a while.
