I saw Jonah, Jack, Corbyn, and Daniel all in a line, each with a target a few yards infront of them. Behind them, a table held hand guns, rifles, bats with nails, a bow and arrows, and knifes. I could use all these things, hell that's what I grew up using.
"Take one and try it," Zachs voice spoke in my ear. I looked at him and he nodded his head in the direction of the hand guns. I rolled my eyes before raising my sweater a bit, I didn't let his darkened eyes go unnoticed, and took the hand gun from my waistband. He looked shocked almost, but his gaze also held a hint of respect.
I walked to an open target, seeing a clean sheet of paper just made me excited. I raised the gun in the air. It's been a while since I shot just for fun, it was the only time I didn't mind holding a gun.
I took a breath, adjusted my grip on the gun and focused. I felt the wind blow through my hair, the ripple in the clothes, I listened to the animals in the woods behind us walk through the bush, I felt five pairs of eyes watching my figure as I stood behind the painted red line. I looked at my target and aimed the gun at the centre. I let my finger curl against the trigger and apply pressure. My frame was steady as the shots rang out, all in the same spot. Exactly in the middle of the paper, barely a milimeter off of eachother. I lowered the gun and turned to face the awe struck crowd.
Corbyn was the first to speak, "God damn." The others nodded their head in agreement. I stifled a laugh as I moved back to the table. I gripped the bow in my hand and grabbed three arrows. I looked to Zach. He looked calm and content leaning against a tree. He held my gaze all the way back to the red line.
I placed the arrow in its riteful place and drew back the string. I looked through the peep sight and aimed at the same hole as I placed my bullets. When I released the string, I watched the arrow soar through the air until it stuck into the wood. I repeated the action once more, placing two more arrows in a perfect group. The guys still watched in awe as I shot.
"I've got to admit, you've got some skill," Zach scoffed.
"Some skill?" Jack said, "dude, she's got more skill then most the guys here!"
"He has a point," Jonah chimed in.
"She's good, I know." Zach's eyes never left mine. I showed no emotion towards him even thought I felt so many of them.
"Can I go?" I asked suddenly. I didn't mean to leave the camp, I meant to go for a run. They must have trails around here.
"Not," Zach moved away from the tree and up to me, "alone."
