i imagine my lungs
breathing through my aching pain.
struggling through each breath
relentlessly into the bleeding sky -
beautiful colors
seeping from each exhale
and with each exhale i think
that imagining my body,
creating something
even half as beautiful
as a sunset can be,
makes the tears from my eyes
feel a bit more worthwhile,
like maybe the striking colors
of red and orange bleeding from the sun
- are just that -
blood from the sweltering pain
that she feels everyday
at having to move herself
up and over the sky
and back down again.
it makes my pain feel
even a little bit more manageable
when something
so heartbreakingly beautiful
can push through each day
just to make my tears feel
as if they were not in vain.
