Jisoo answered her phone as soon as she saw the caller.
"Sooya!"
"Hi Mom," Jisoo greeted back as she sat back in her chair.
As Jisoo sat in her chair, something caught her attention. She could hear Jennie moving around.
The adjoining door to the partner office was open. Jisoo and Lalisa hadn't opened that door in four years.
"Sooya?" Jisoo's mother called to her, obviously knowing she hadn't heard anything her mother just said.
"Sorry Mom."
"Honey, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm at the office."
"You work too hard," her mother scolded.
"Mom," Jisoo drew the word out.
"Well, you make sure you get all your work done before I get there."
Shit! Jisoo's parents and twin sister were coming for Christmas. Dammit, how could I forget that?
"Uh, Mom, some things have come up and..." Jisoo tried as she stood and walked toward the open door.
"Kim Jisoo," her mother used that motherly tone, "we'll be at your house in another few hours!"
Dammit! Think Kim, think.
"I can't wait to see how big Jin is," her mother was going on and on while she was breaking out in a cold sweat and paced.
"Yeah, he's a bruiser alright," Jisoo said back as she watched Jennie unpacking her things.
"How is Jennie dear?"
Jisoo's free hand pulled at her hair as she stepped away from the door and she paced within her office.
"Uh, fine. Great."
"Sooya, you sound funny," her mother tsked. "Oh dear, she still doesn't remenmber does she?"
"Mom, really, this so wouldn't be a good time to visit. No, she hasn't gotten memories back, and with it being Christmas and..."
"Then, maybe more familiar people around will spark some memories," her mother interrupted.
"No, Mom, listen..."
"Alright hon," her mother said to her father who must be driving before coming back to her. "Dad says I need to get off the phone. It's distracting him. We'll be at your house by dinner. I love you."
"Mom!" Jisoo called into the phone but it was too late.
"Jisoo?" Jennie softly called to Jisoo.
Jisoo turned and saw Jennie standing in the adjoining door looking at her.
This wasn't happening! Jisoo looked at Jennie. Oh boy.
"Jennie, I need your help," Jisoo told her.
Jennie crinkled her nose in confusion. "Jisoo, the office is closed officially until the first of the year. What could you possibly need help with already?"
"My mother," Jisoo blurted out. "Well, my family really."
Jennie took two steps bringing her into Jisoo's office. "Your family?"
Jennie watched Jisoo pace nervously. Jisoo chuckle to herself then curse as she paced around.
Jisoo stopped pacing and faced Jennie. "You see, I forgot they were coming for Christmas."
