*بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم*

*❌No APRIL Fool Day❌*

*Lying is an evil characteristic, which all religions and systems of ethics warn against and which man's innate common sense (fitrah) agrees that it is wrong.* Those who possess chivalry and sound reason also say this.

*Truthfulness is one of the pillars on which the moral survival of the world depends. It is the foundation of praiseworthy characteristics, the cornerstone of Prophethood, the result of taqwaa.*

According to sharee’ah, *lying is not permitted except in specific cases which do not lead to loss of rights, bloodshed or slander of people’s honour, etc.,* but which concern saving lives, reconciling between people, or creating love between husband and wife.

1⃣ *We Should Not Follow The Actions Of Disbelievers*

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: *He who copies any people is one of them.*

2⃣ *Lying Is Strictly Prohibited Even As A Joke Or To Make Someone Laugh Or Cheating*

🔆It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: *He who deceives is not of me (is not my follower).*

3⃣ *It's Not Permissible For A Believer To Trouble Or Frighten Another Believer*

Narrated AbdurRahman ibn Abu Layla:

The Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) told us that they were travelling with the Prophet (ﷺ). A man of them slept, and one of them went to the rope which he had with him. He took it, by which he was frightened. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: *It is not lawful for a Muslim that he frightens a Muslim.*

4⃣ *Lying To Children Is Not Permissible*

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amir:

My mother called me one day when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was sitting in our house. She said: *Come here and I shall give you something.* The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked her: What did you intend to give him? She replied: I intended to give him some dates. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: *If you were not to give him anything, a lie would be recorded against you.*

5⃣ *It's Not Permissible To Speak Everything Whatever You Hear Without Cross Checking It*

Shu’bah narrated to us, on authority of Abī Hurayrah, he said, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: *‘It is enough of a lie for a man to narrate everything he hears’.*

6⃣ *Consequences Of Lying*

Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

*Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful,*

and

*lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell, and the person tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar.*
