"And the couple going home tonight is... Bethany and Derek"
I wasn't surprised, I definitely saw it coming. I turned around and hugged Derek, fighting off the tears. We hugged there for about 10 seconds, with my legs wrapped around him. I got down and I finally realized everyone clapping around us and looked over to my mom and sister shedding a few tears.
We got down and Erin asked me what this journey was like. To be honest, I didn't know what to say. I managed to let out some words.
"This journey has been, the best experience ever. I'm so glad that I decided to do this because it was so amazing. I learned so much here and met so many amazing people. Derek and I, we grew so close, closer than you think. I could not thank him enough for everything he's done."
Derek squeezed me waist, where his hand already was, and kissed my temple. Erin led us to the middle I the stage where we took our final bow and everyone came up to hug us. I couldn't focus, there was so much going on. As soon as everyone finally let me breathe and we were off air, the tears came pouring down. Everyone came to comfort me, especially Derek. For some reason when he touched me, I felt something. Like a spark of electricity. I had no idea where it came from, but I just brushed it off my shoulder.
Derek's POV
I was so proud of Bethany and I felt like she needed to know it. She came to hug me and when she did, I felt something. Something I never felt before. I just let it go and continued the big group hug everyone engulfed us in.
