Chapter 5: Derek's POV

~I know the timing is wrong for leaving for gma but I forgot about that when I published the last chapter😂~

I woke up at about 9:30 and smiled right away. I was now officially dating the girl I love. I got out of bed to see Mark making pancakes. I was little confused. 1) Mark is never up this early and 2) he never makes breakfast. We will either eat a bowl of cereal or not eat at all.
"What's the occasion?"
He looked up and smiled at me.
"It's a little congrats on finally asking Bethany out."
I sat down at the island as I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
"Really Mark? It's honestly not that big of a deal."
He went ahead and put three pancakes on a plate and handed it to me . I took the butter and maple syrup and started spreading the butter on my pancakes.
"D, everyone knew all season you guys were gonna date. I was the only one who knew it was going to take this long."
"Wait, really..."
Mark shook his head and laughed. I just continued to eat my pancakes in peace.
When I was done, I went upstairs to finish packing. We were leaving for Nee York in a couple hours to be on Good Morning America(just work with me here😂). I packed a couple shirts, pants, and some undergarments. I was only going to be there for 3 days, so I didn't need to pack that much. I closed my suitcase and brought it downstairs so I didn't need to get it later.
I still had an hour until I needed to be at the airport, so I decided to just relax. I texted Bethany and asked her if she wanted me to pick her up and take her to the airport. She responded with a "yes, thank you!" and I locked my phone. I turned on the tv and started watching Elf. Mark came in and started watching it with me about ten minutes later.
We started laughing about a part in the movie, and then we realized what time it was and it was time to go.
I grabbed my suitcase and brought it out to the car. I texted Beth before I drove away that I was on my way. I pulled out of the driveway, and was on my way to pick up Bethany.
When I got there, I parked in her driveway, and went to the front door. I knocked and Bethany opened the door.
"Oh hey D! I'll be right out let me say bye to my parents and get my suitcase."
She went back inside and came back out a few seconds later with her suitcase in hand and smiled at me.
"Ready to go Ms. Mota?"
"Of course, Mr. Hough!"
She grabbed my arm and we walked to the car.
