After school I was with Amy when I brought up the fact that I am going to the bonfire with her brother tomorrow.
"What? Since when were you and him together?!" She exclaims.
"Um..."
Amy sighs. "Well you should at least tell me the details. Have you kissed him yet?" She asks.
I nod, blushing.
"Great." She grins at me.
I smile too. "Are you going to the bonfire?" I ask.
"Of course." She rolls her eyes.
"Can you help me get ready tomorrow?" I ask her next, widening my eyes into a puppy dog expression.
She groans. "You know I can't resist." She sighs. "Fine."
I grin, a bubbly feeling popping up in my chest.
"So is this, like, a date?" Amy asks, leaning forwards on her bed.
I blush, but frown in confusion. "I don't think so." I sigh, utterly confused.
Amy sighs. "Well then, we're gonna have to get him to ask you on a date." She grins mischievously.
I cock my head to the side a little. "What are you thinking? Aren't you freaked out that I am going out with your big brother?"
She shakes her head. "No, I'm not like that. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, I just expected it to come sooner." She admits.
"Why?"
Now she gives me a confused look, before laughing. "Oh honey it's so obvious he's had his eye on you since he first saw you." She giggles.
I blush. "He has?" I ask, secretly happy beyond belief.
She nods her head enthusiastically. "Yeah! He's always so protective of you. When I was first hearing about you from Jack and Ashton, I asked what you looked like and you know what he said? Beautiful. He said beautiful, and wouldn't say anything else." She gushes.
I blush bright red again. "Really?" I mumble, a small smile playing on my lips.
"Yeah!" She exclaims again. "I couldn't believe it! My arrogant, cocky brother was saying a girl is beautiful! He's never even been interested in a girl before!"
That thought alone makes me smile.
That evening after dinner and showers, I was lying on my bed when Ashton came walking out of the en suite. He was rubbing a towel through his glistening black hair, just wearing a pair of pyjama pants.
He smiles at me, throwing the towel back in the bathroom.
I smile back.
He walks over to me and scoops me up, carrying me bridal style. Instinctively I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my face in the crook of his neck, taking in his delicious scent.
He carries me to our bed. I don't bother sleeping in mine anymore; I have to be with him physically now to sleep properly. Without Ashton I can't fall asleep peacefully anymore.
Pulling the covers up over our bodies, Ashton kisses my forehead and mumbles a goodnight. I do the same, burying my head at the base of his neck and inhaling his intoxicating scent again. He smells so addictive.
When I finally wake up I am still wrapped in Ashton's arms, my chest pressed against his. His warmth wraps around me, making me feel comfortable and safe. I can feel those electrifying sparks jumping from his skin to mine, making me smile a little to myself.
