Harry P.O.V.
I was fuming.
I’d tried my best to not let it show in front of Niall, and I think I succeeded, but now I can’t control it. Niall was softly snoring as he lay on my chest, exhausted after finally telling someone what has been going on. It was something that I could never have imagined. I slowly moved Niall off me and laid him carefully back on to the couch. He looks so peaceful when he sleeps, like everything that’s happening to him doesn’t matter and he can finally stop worrying. Finally stop hurting.
I need to talk to Liam; I need to understand why he would do this. It wasn’t like him. I stepped out of Niall’s hotel room and walked down the hall. I forcefully banged on Liam’s door three times before he answered it.
“Oh Harry, what’s up?” he asked me, happily.
I was about ready to punch him in the face. Why does he get to be happy while Niall falls apart? It’s not fair.
“Can I come in?” I asked him, trying to hide how I was feeling.
“Sure,” he opened the door wider so I could step past him and into his hotel room.
“What can I do for you?” he asked.
“Tell me what happened,” I told him, not turning to look at him.
“What?” he asked, obviously surprised by my question.
“Tell me what happened between you and Niall,” I said again, with more force.
“What do you mean? Nothing happened between me and Niall,” he replied, trying to act innocent.
“Don’t give me any of your shit Liam. I was just with him. Now tell me what you did to him. I want to hear it from you,” I turned to face him before I continued. “Tell me how he put his heart on the line and told you that he loved you. Tell me how you led him on. Tell me how you cheated on him. Tell me how you can stand here in front of me with no feelings of remorse. Tell me, why you get to be okay, and Niall gets to feel like he’s shit and doesn’t deserve anything? Tell me how that’s fair.”
“Harry, this really isn’t any of your business. It’s between me and Niall. You may think you know everything that’s happened but you don’t,” he answered.
“Not my business? How can it not be my business?” I was shouting at him now. “He got drunk and fell off of the stage at one of our concerts. He got our tour cancelled, but it’s not his fault, it’s yours. You pushed him to this. He didn’t want to feel anything so he drank,” I took two steps so I was right in front of him. “I’m the one who slept in his hotel room last night because I was that worried about him. Even Louis and Zayn cared more then you did. You decided it would be a good night to go out and party instead of looking after one of your best friends. I didn’t understand it then, but I do now. You can’t do this to people Liam.” I finished.
His face had lost most of it’s hardness as I shouted. Liam now looked like a confused little boy who has just found out that he completely screwed up. And I was glad. He needs to know that what he did was stupid.
“I’m sorry Harry,” was all he said.
“Why are you apologising to me. You did nothing to me. Go apologise to Niall if you want to feel better about yourself. The bad part is that I think Niall will forgive you. But that’s only because he’s still in love with you. No matter how much you hurt him, that boy will always love you. Because he believes in the best of people and that’s all he will see. He won’t see the part of you that ruined him. And because of that I think it’s best if you stay away. I think you should wait for him to come to you.”
