Not a lot of thrilling or action packed chaos happened after that night. It felt like their lives were pretty dull unless they were called out - to which they were a couple of times - but nothing resulting in such severe injuries again.
"Are you excited!?" Marco asked , holding me between his arms with the biggest smile.
"Are you kidding me ? I'm ecstatic !" I said , returning his smile as we walked down stairs.
"Whatever it is Alice, I'll be equally as happy. Just having a child with you has made me so happy already. " he said placing a kiss to my lips before opening the doctor's door.
"Miguel, nice to see you again." I said with a smile while Marco closed the door behind him.
"It's not every day you get to find out the gender of the boss' baby." He said with a smile while he got everything ready. At this point I was growing so nervous -while Marco tried to ease my nerves by rubbing circles on my hand- as we watched the screen closely. I don't know what we thought we would see - since everything looked the same to us - but we kept waiting in anticipation anyway.
"What do you see ?" Marco pressed while Miguel cleaned my belly off returning to his desk , leaving us waiting .
"Well ?" I said this time , as I held tight to Marco's hand not being able to hold it much longer.
"It's a boy!" He said with a smile as my breath got knocked out of me from joy while Marco kissed me.
"I'm so happy Alice !" He said putting kisses all over my face as I giggled underneath his touch.
"Thank you so much Miguel . We'll see you soon." He said while he grabbed my hand opening the door , seeing his whole gang gathered outside in anticipation while Marco raised our intertwined hands yelling; "A boy !" Making everyone cheer like crazy.
I guess having an heir was a rather big deal around here, but it didn't bother me since I knew I wanted a son since I was a little girl. And seeing Marco and everyone around us so happy made me even happier that I could give them this joy.
I watched as everyone's excitement started dying down as they started leaving the hallway one after the other, as it was soon just the two of us again.
"How about I order us some burgers and milkshakes to celebrate?" He asked turning towards me.
"Can it be bubblegum milkshakes?" I said with a smile while he held both of my hands in his.
"Anything you want." He said kissing my forehead while we walked down to the living room , sitting on the couch.
I cuddled into his side while he switched on Glee . I used to watch it during the day when I had nothing else to do , but I guess tonight we got to do it together.
Halfway through their regionals routine in Season 1 , Tom walked in with take out from Chick-fil-a and some bubblegum milkshakes as I immediately got all excited, taking it from him.
"Someone seems hungry." Marco said with a smile while he leanded over me , grabbing a fry from the bag.
"I'm always hungry. " I said laughing while he joined me , making the room seem light and cheery.
"Can I ask you something ?" I said sitting back while he continued to ruffle in the bag for his food.
"Sure. " He said sitting back again.
"Do you ever get scared going on ... missions ?" I asked , not completely sure what word to use to describe what he did for a living.
"You mean heists ?" He said with a smile at my poor attempt at trying to explain the situation.
"Yeah , that. I mean , I get scared just waiting around here. How do you do it ?" I said sipping on my milkshake.
"Well uh...I try not to attach myself to the situation. Like leaving all of my emotions and feelings at home. It's better that way." He said taking a bite from his burger.
"You make it sound so easy." I said ,twirling my straw around in the cup.
"It's not. Trust me. But I'll never let anything happen to you Alice. Nor to any of our children. You'll always be my first priority. " he said reaching his hands out to me , holding my face gently between his large hands while I leaned into his touch.
"Thanks." I said while we turned back to the TV.
"You know, I can sing too." He said turning to me with a smile while I switched the TV off.
"Really?" I said surprised.
"Of course !" He said before he started singing don't stop believing sounding nothing like I thought he would.
"Stop , stop , stop" I said laughing so hard my stomach started aching. "That was so bad ." I said , holding my stomach as I continued laughing. I could tell right off the bat that he was just faking singing that bad. But it did bring me so much joy having laughed that hard. And that he could make me laugh so much.
"You know , words can hurt." He said fake pouting as I moved closer to him , taking his face between my hands.
"But I still love you." I said with a smile, putting a quick peck to his lips.
"You better." He said laughing before I started running towards the backyard , him chasing me before we jumped into the pool.
We sat there in the cool water until the stars graced us with their presence along with the moon. We didn't need to move , or swim , or even talk. Just floating there , looking up at the stars together. Was enough for me.
