Taehyung's p.o.v.
"So, why are you here hyung?", I heard Jungkook ask as soon as I turned to look at him.
"Pfft, Can't I come visit my best friend once in a while?" I faked a laugh but I knew it wouldn't fool Jungkook, so I changed the topic quickly.
"So I've got three tickets to the baseball match this Saturday. I was thinking you would want to come?" I asked while opening the curtains to let some light in. As I did so, I noticed Jungkook squinting his eyes.
This kid has been in the dark for too many days. Aish.
"I don't think I want to", he replied. "You want some beer?"
"Beer? At this time of the day? Ok, sure. Not that I have anywhere to be after this anyway." I replied while making some space on the sofa to sit.
As he handed me the beer can he sat on the other sofa.
"Cheers." I said, extending my hand a little.
"Cheers." He replied, clinking his can with mine.
We sat there drinking our beer for what felt like forever. As I was about to break the silence, Jungkook beat me to it.
"Are you here because of what happened between me and Y/n?" I heard him ask, successfully breaking the silence.
At that, I looked at him, facing him directly. Not wanting to lie anymore I replied a "yes."
He laughed lightly, head slightly lolling forward.
I was in no mood to laugh and so I asked, "what happened?".
Abruptly stopping his laughter, he looked at me. Something about that look made me feel so sympathetic. I didn't know what had happened between the two, but I wanted to fix it, so bad. I wanted to make things right so the two could go back to living a happy life again. But I also knew that their life was not for me to fix. They had to do it themselves and all I could do was help. And God knew I was going to do whatever it took to do that.
"It's simple, hyung. I fucked up. That's what I always do. And that's what I did."
"No, Jungkook, you did not. You can still turn it back if you want to. It's not a fuck up if u can still repair it. It just won't be as perfect anymore and that's...OK." I replied.
Jungkook seemed to mull on that for what felt like a minute or two.
"I just don't know if I can still do that." He replied once he broke out of his reverie.
"I'll help you with it. I'm here with you. Always." I said. It seemed to relax Jungkook a bit as I saw him let out a breath I didn't know he was holding in.
"How did you come to know about this, Taehyung." He asked.
"Umm...from my sister."
"Mina? Ahhh, I always seem to forget that your sister is also Y/n's best friend." Jungkook said. "So she knows too. It won't be soon before everyone comes to know as well." He brushed his hands through his hair in frustration. Tutting and shaking his head.
"Calm down, Kook. Let's not think about that now."
"So, how's Y/n? Where is she now? Is she ok?" Jungkook asked, again. "Not that I have the right to ask those questions, after I outright let her leave just like that in the wee hours of the night."
"She's fine, I guess." I replied, wondering if I should spill it out to him just yet that Y/n was living with Jimin now.
"And... Uh... She's with Jimin now... I mean she's living in his apartment for now." I said, anyway.
I saw Jungkook's eyes dilate a little at that. "So Jimin thought of taking advantage of the situation, huh? He's always liked Y/n right?" He scoffed.
"Don't let your ego cloud your emotions, Jeon. You very well know how close they are." I said calmly. I knew I had to handle the situation with utmost care, especially him. "Of course Jimin likes her. But like a brother would. Don't you remember how he was the one who introduced you to Y/n. Would he do that if he liked Y/n like the way you are implicating?"
Jungkook rolled his head back and closed his eyes all the while taking deep breaths. He looked frustrated which was natural at the moment.
"I just can't seem to calm down, you know?" He asked. "It's all so frustrating. Ever since Y/n left I haven't left the house myself. I've called in sick at work and lied to my boss. I've been eating cup ramen everyday. A-and I just don't know what to do." Voice breaking at the end.
I looked at him for a second and then abruptly got up. Putting the beer can on the table I walked up to him. "Hey! Get up!" I half shouted.
He looked at me in surprise. I pulled him up with me and stood him up. Dusting off the imaginary dust from his shoulders I gave him a small smile.
"Go and wash yourself up, Kookie. We'll go get some food, ok? And I'm not even asking you. You just have to come with me. No excuses."
He looked at me wide-eyed. Then slowly went to his room to wash up. He knew he couldn't argue with me right now, so he complied.
Also he needed that bath. So bad.
[A/n: For some odd reason this was so hard to write. It's not even that good and I apologise. Sincerely.
Peace out.✊]
