Rolling over I suddenly hit the floor with a thud. "Ughhh."
"Yeah you probably shouldn't roll there's not much room." I blow the hair out of my face to see Carly sitting at her small dining table with coffee in hand.
"Duly noted." I reply.
I stand up and throw my blanket back on the couch. "What time is it?" Carly looks at the clock and says, "6:30." I need to get ready for school. I pick up my blanket and fold it neatly before sliding it back under the coffee table.
She nod to a cup on the table, "I made you some coffee figured you'd need it." I smile at her great fully. "Thank you, you were right."
I chug the coffee, and then she says, "You'll have to get your clothes today, but for now I set out some leggings and a cropped hoodie."
"Thanks Carly I really do appreciate you letting me stay here and everything."
She smiles warmly, "I don't mind the company, and you're pretty tidy so I don't see any inconvenience." With that being said I grab the clothes and slide them on. We were both girls anyway.
"That's such a cool tattoo!" She beams.
I furrow my brows, "What are you talking about?" She points to the side of my stomach where a weird symbol presents itself. I gasp, "Oh my god where the hell did that come from."
Carly snorts, "Probably from a long night of drinking. At least it's not like a flying pig or something." I shrug, "Yeah that's weird though."
I continue to exam it. I hate that I couldn't even remember getting it.
"I'll give you a ride to school, let's go." Pulling my shirt down I follow her down.

I walk into history class, and take a seat in the middle row. Praying to god none of them were going to try and talk to me, I am so not in the mood.
The class room fills up, and as expected Cal and Kade try to sit beside me. Cal made it into the seat in front of me, and Kade didn't luck out and had to sit in the back.
"Layla, thank god you are safe we have been looking everywhere for you." I completely ignore Cal and stare blankly ahead. "Where did you stay all weekend?"
"When are you coming home?"
"Okay the silence game is so childish Layla." I smirk to myself and continue ignoring him.
"Okay class, today we're going to take our test on the revolutionary war. Pass the scantrons back."
Shit I forgot about this test. Cal hands me a scantron and then in a hushed voice he says, "We're sorry Layla, none of us meant to hurt you." I turn around and hand the test back to the person behind me. Smiling slightly when I see Nathan.
"Hey Layla." I smile back at him, "Hey Nathan."
"COME ON ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" Cal says out loud.
Mr. Hampton says, "Caleb! Try to hold back your outbursts of stupidity until you leave my classroom." Calebs face sours and we all laugh.
"Your time starts now."
I look at the test and knew automatically I was screwed. History was my worst subject most of it went in one ear and out the other.
"Fuck." I whisper under my breath. Nathan whispers back, "I got you...." I didn't know what he meant until a small paper was dropped in my lap.
Looking up to see if the teacher was watching I slowly unfold the paper.

Nathan was god sent.
Suddenly something hits me in the back of the head clinking loudly to the ground. "What the-."
Mr. Hampton cuts me off, "The next word out of your mouth better be heck or I will give you a zero." I turn my head quickly to see Kade giving me an innocent look.
Nathan says, "Just ignore him."
I scribble the answers down quickly. Another piece drops into my lap.

I fill in the bubbles as I go. Despite Nathan being your stereotypical jock, he was actually very smart. Top in our senior class.
Something hits me in the back of the head again and I sigh deeply calming my anger. Kade is really getting on my god damn nerves.
Another note falls in my lap.

I blush and scribble the rest down before saying, "I'm done Mr. Hampton." He nods and comes over collecting my test.
A few other people hand them in as well. That's when an erase bounces right off my head, I stand up quickly and say, "You know Kade if you actually did your test instead of throwing stuff at me the whole period you probably would have an F in this class." Everyone "ooo's" and Mr. Hampton says, "Detention after school, Kade."
"It's the end of the school year-"
Mr. Hampton cuts him off rudely, "Guess you should have thought about that before you disrupted my class."
"But!"
"Should we make it two?" Kades mouth slams shut and everyone laughs.

The school day was over and I was back at Bob and Rita's with an apron on. Today was my first day working, and I was kind of excited. "Coffee at table two." I nod and grab the pot walking quickly to table two.
It was an elderly couple, and god were they cute. I hope one day I can like someone enough to get married. I smile at my joke, and pour coffee in their cups. "How are you two doing today?"
The woman cracks a smile and says, "We are doing just lovely darling, you must be knew we're pretty regular here."
I smile back and say, "Yes I am Carly is actually helping me out. The man smiles gently and says, "That's Carly for you, always looking out for people. Between you and us she always sneaks us a muffin before we go!" I laugh at that and say, "Well I have no problem doing the same as long as it's okay with her."
With that being said I turn on my heel and start to walk back towards Carly. When I get over to her she smiles, "That's Joe and Avery, aren't they the absolute cutest?" I nod in agreement. One of the other servers says, "Burger at table Five." I nod and grab the tray walking over to what I think is table five. Carly whistles and points to the other table.
Whoops.
I turn and bring it the correct table, and set it down in-front of them. "Here's your burger with no pickle." The man smiles, "Thanks, doll face."
"Not a problem, sir."
Believe it or not I actually really enjoy this job.
