Chapter Sixteen

I felt as if I was going to pass out for a second but then the stars in my vision went away. Damien had tried to get to me but was held down to the floor. I sit up slowly and look around. Not only did I not feel anything about Sarah, or my parents, but I was looking at the people I once cared so much for and I felt nothing. A sort of emptiness that had no limits.
Demetrius holds his hand out and I take it standing with him. I felt void. All of their lies and betrayals that made me question my own life were gone. They let Damien go and he is immediately at my side. He grabs the side of my face and looks into my eyes deeply, "Layla! What did she do to you? Are you okay?"
The worry on his face causes me to smile, "She took away the pain. I don't feel anything anymore."
He shakes his head, "What, what do you mean what are you talking about?"
I look at him trying to remember the feelings I was developing for him, "You know, there was a point when I looked at you and felt love. Yeah, I think I was starting to love you Damien. But now, I look at you and see a weak pathetic wolf who couldn't protect me no matter how much he tried. Hell I mean I almost died just a little while back, good job Damien my hero."
His eyes fill with hurt.
Atlas looks at me and says, "Sarah's dead Layla, they killed her. We can take them you have their blood in your system just help me!"
I glare at him, "How long were you fucking my bestfriend for huh? I mean it was the perfect cover, she told me she was gay, but she was fucking you all along wasn't she?"
His eyes widen, "She was bisexual Layla! We were going to tell you we just-"
Cutting him off rudely I say, "You just didn't. See the thing is, I don't trust any of you. The secrets the lies, your words mean nothing. You're not even my real brother. It's all just lies."
He grabs me harshly and says, "Don't say that, don't you ever fucking say that. We are family!"
I start laughing, "You're nothing to me. All of you mean nothing to me!"
Looking at Demetrius I smirk, "I'm just curious about you, Ezra said you can make me orgasm with just a few words. I'd like to test that." The vampires around me smirk as Damien roars his canines coming out. Kade and Luca step forward furious as well.
Demetrius replies simply, "That's a test I will surely pass. But first love we have one last surprise. You have our blood in your system. Now you just need one more thing for you to awaken." I raise a brow as Ezra and another vampire grab onto Damien. He fights hard but they force him to his knees in front of me.
Ezra pries his mouth open by his jaw and everyone goes into a frenzy. I wasn't scared though.
Demetrius grabs my arm roughly surprising me. He puts my wrist in Damiens mouth and I look at him with wide eyes. He wants to turn me?!
This was his ulterior motive all along? Then why take my emotions away?!
I try to pull back but Ezra forced Damiens canines into my wrist. I scream out in pain.
