Chapter 26

Next up is Madison on her horse Shadow.

“We got this boy” Madison said to Shadow kissing his neck and went off dashed to the first barrel felling like they both are one as Shadow zoomed the next then finally the last one Madison pushed Shadow harder to the finish.
That was amazing Madison Daniels with a record in her hometown of 14.48 on her horse Shadow.

“Yeah boy we did it” Madison said jumped off and hugged her horse and kissing him on his nose, making him bob his head like saying oh yeah that’s us people. “Congratulations Princess” Jackson said as he caught her and spun her around Madison kissed Jackson and hugged him again. “So, we are just waiting for Mason and your event then?” Madison asks remembering Layla’s big win today. “I would love coming to visit this place” Layla said looking around “Why? It’s not that different from where we live” Alexa said

“Mmm, Yes but I guess the guys there are more, well ummm, jerks then here because our towns boys are quite the eye candy” Madison teased “Stop it Madi” Layla said “Nah we don’t even have to try to stop you” Jackson said with a smirk “Where you going with this?” Layla asks crossing her arms “mmm, yes all they have to hear is the name Marshal Madison Daniels   and deputy Jackson Storm” Madison said with a smirk playing on her lips

“Oh you two are going to destroy my love  life” Layla whined “I now very glad my son decided to date you” Landon said laughing. “Great this is just amazing maybe Johnson would have a better girlfriend” Layla said Madison crossed her arms

“Well I just introduced your brother to a cop friend of mine she doesn’t hesitate to shoot and she can scare people into talking in 30 seconds flat and her and your brother well… they are quite hitting it off” Madison said flipping her hair over her shoulder like some pro doing a dap. Layla’s mouth fell open

“You what?!” Layla said running towards where she last saw Johnson, leaving everyone behind rolling as they laugh “Is she really a cop?” Jackson ask between his laughter “Umm, yes but she retired and now teaches PE at school” Madison said shrugging “Let me guess she is like a drill sergeant with the high school kids?” Jackson asks “Oh yes but our school has the fittest kids and best track team in all of Texas” Madison said smirking

“Good to know” Alexa said “But she is very nice just not too nice in the school gym” Madison said laughing remembering her walk in through the doors when she was making the kids run till they drop when they went for water breaks.

“Well Mason’s up now” Jackson said Madison walk to the stand and saw her family waving at her, Jackson followed with his parents and sister right behind him. Madison sat down just as Mason nodded his head watching the horses kick like something is trying to bite him from behind and tossed his body from one side to the other, Mason held his balance well as he sat on top of the wildest west horses there was on the rodeo circuit, the horse tossed and kicked but couldn’t just yet buck Mason off, The buzzer sounded.

Mason Sterling on Bruiser had made the eight and left him winning the event.

Mason bumped his fist in the air and ran to Taylor on the fence and gave her a kiss “Thanks for being my good luck charm babe” Mason said “Only yours” Taylor replied and gave Mason one more kiss. “Jackson be careful and go show them how it’s done” Madison said as Jackson stood up “sure thing princess” Madison stood up and gave him a good luck kiss on the cheek “Thanks Princess” Jackson said and went to where the rest of the anxious bull riders are waiting.

“Oh, you are still here?” Came Dave’s voice from behind Jackson “Why yes, got a problem with that?” Jackson asks looking him dead in the eyes “Yes, because you came waltzing in like the long-lost hero missing all these years and just went straight to the top and where I had to work my but off to get where I am today” Dave said his jaw clenched “First of all I don’t waltz and second this is my nature this is what I love” Jackson said calm which even surprised him “And on top of that you just take the girl I being trying to talk to for four years” Dave said “You mean Madison which you called a slut of a widow that killed her own husband to inherit his riches?” Jackson ask remembering he overheard a conversation between him and some other guy

“So, you eavesdrop now?” Dave said “No, if you have been a cop on the force for six years you tend to pick up a few things” Jackson said and someone called Dave’s name.

Jackson relaxed once he was gone and talked to a retired bull rider when the medics staff rushed to the arena seeing Dave lying there groaning. Someone finally called Jackson Storm and he got on top off the bull Stubborn, Jackson checked his balance and grip and nodded and the bull flew out and kicked his legs forward, back and forward again swinging to the right then the left, then swinging around and then start kicking again and then turned sharp and swinging back again.

Jackson heard the buzzer and jump off running away from the still bucking bull.
That was the last event of today and the winner is Jackson Storm.

Jackson got out of the arena when Madison jumped in his arms giving him a kiss “Congratulations cowboy” Madison said grinning from ear to ear. “Thanks rodeo sheriff” Jackson teased “Stop that…” Madison said still smiling. “Never, rodeo sheriff” Maddox said walking towards them with a girl beside him.
“So, I heard you two are dating?” Maddox said “Oh yeah and we quitted the force” Madison said “I would’ve have done that as well after a case like this” Maddox said looking at Madison and Jackson. “Definitely” Jackson said sliding his hand to the small of Madison’s back. “Well we better get going” Maddox said and left with the woman ogling Jackson. “Wanna go for a ride?” Madison ask as she take out Shadow and Harmony out of their stalls

“Sure” Jackson replied and Madison handed him Harmony “You can ride Harmony, Shadow don’t do well with men riding him” Madison said smiling “Well I think Shadow likes me” Jackson said patting Shadow on his side.
“Yeah” Madison said. Looking at Jackson with a smile. Madison mounted her horse and Jackson mounted Harmony “Well where are we going?”  Jackson ask as they exited the rodeo grounds.

“You just have to wait and see” Madison said smirking “Okay fair enough, so what was your relationship with Maddox?” Jackson ask looking at Madison “umm, well after Jack died, I was livin life on top the bar and Hella drunk so one night he was here and well let’s just say I woke up in is bed with a crazy hungover and vomit on my lips” Madison said looking down

“I am sorry I didn’t meant to ask-
“Jackson no secrets are better than you find out these things out of somebody else’s mouth” Madison said “I then I stopped going to bars and started to go to the gym like crazy trained hard and trained hard in shooting and so I took over Jack’s place” Madison said looking over her shoulder at Jackson “I guess we all deal with these things differently since I can’t drink alcohol because I am seriously allergic” Jackson said as he watch Madison look back at him “I guess your right” Madison said and watch the big tree in the cemetery came into view “You said you wanted come here” Madison said as they cross tie their horses “Yeah” Jackson said as he followed Madison to the big oak tree standing there “Jack always said when he dies he wanted a view” Madison said chuckling, Jackson watched the view “It’s an Amazing view” Jackson said as he watch Madison lying against the tree looking at a grave:

“I miss you pal working for you was an amazing opportunity, I guess only a few people knew you like me and Madison, She is beautiful just like you said the night on the phone when you had to get rid of her stalker, I do miss you and I just want to say a few things Jack I promise to take care of Madison and I am sorry I couldn’t come to your funeral man it was a private one and Jax I recently found out was your sister id finally starting to come back to reality and she found love again I miss you brother from another mother, and I won’t let you down Jack I promise Mads are in good hands” Jackson said while a tear roll down his cheek and he heard a sob next to him seeing Madison on her knees beside him he hugged her but didn’t say a word “Thank you Jackson” Madison said kissing his cheek.

Madison stood up “Let’s go back to the ranch”.
