Dear Kate,

You were so beautiful... Every time I got a good look at you, I couldn't help but stare. Every time the light caught your eyes, the beautiful blue colour of them became a dazzling, bright aquamarine and it never failed to make my heart skip a beat. And your blonde hair in the sunlight? Every strand became golden, which only made you even prettier.

Don't even get me started on your gorgeous face. Small, faint freckles dotted all over your skin... so many nights I've spent, just imagining kissing every single one of them... And your lips... shaped so perfectly. I've spent even more time imagining finally gathering the courage to just lightly grab your face to meet mine and to press my lips to yours. Would you have been alright with that? I guess I'll never know now, huh? I guess I should've done it before... before I lost you. The worst thing that could've happened is you'd stop talking to me, cut me out of your life entirely, but I doubt that would've happened.

Enough about the what-ifs... Remember when we went to go see that horror movie together? You got scared and had your face buried in my neck for most of the film. I thought it was adorable. You also insisted that I should hold your hand on the way out and then asked if you could sleep over. And of course I let you. I don't know if you're aware but, in the middle of the night, you rolled over and held onto me. So I kind of just snuggled you for the rest of the night. That was one of my favourite memories with you. I just wish we could make more...
