"GENESIS wasn't the worst," I said while I set a bunch of white roses in the gold vase at the front of the venue

"GENESIS wasn't the worst," I said while I set a bunch of white roses in the gold vase at the front of the venue.

Today was another best day. Someone was getting married, one of my clients, which meant that I got to set up the entire venue. It was a beautiful traditional church and the theme was white, gold, and royal blue. It was someone's best day today and I loved best days.

And I really loved that I talked Logan into helping me in exchange for telling her about my date with Genesis the other night.

Genesis was okay.

"Pros and cons," Logan said while she pasted circular golden dots on the walls. "Pros first."

"Okay..." I thought about it while I walked to the front of the room to grab more flowers for the empty vases. "Pros. He has a nice face. Like, it's a cute face. A good face. I like a lot of faces, really. Faces are pretty fun, and I never really think that the face is the most important part of anyone, it's definitely the heart that matters most. But the face is nice to have a good one–"

"PC! Enough about the face!" Logan exclaimed as she accidentally ripped a circle and proceeded to crumple it and toss it on the floor. She definitely was not a decorator.

"Sorry," I muttered. "Um... He was nice. For the most part. He was sweet and he was actually really innocent, which is different from the other people I've talked to."

"That's good. Innocence is good sometimes," Logan said. "So. Cons."

"Well, the first one that obviously comes to mind is his name. I thought it was cool, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how bad it is," I said.

"What's wrong with his name? It is a little different, but why is it so bad?" she asked, climbing down from the ladder.

"I don't like saying it, it makes me feel dirty."

Logan walked over to grab more stick-on dots, stopping in front of me. "Clay. Tell me. I need to know the cons."

I sighed. We were in a holy chapel and I was going to have to be completely honest about the biggest con.

"His name is Genesis, Logan. You know? Like what Hitler did?" I said, keeping my voice quiet. "He killed a bunch of people, you know? That's called genesis."

Logan just stared at me.

Did she not see how bad his name was?

Did Logan not know about Hitler? Did she never have the talk?

And then she laughed and wrapped her arms around me. I didn't know why she was hugging me, but obviously I hugged back. I loved hugs. Getting a hug from Logan of all people was few and far between, but when it happened, it was great.
