Leah

Her lips were cracked and dry. Both lip licking and lip biting were bad habits of hers. But the fighting against them only made the desire worse. Also, why did every single thing in her fucking life have to remind her of Abby Nicole Suso?

It was more than unfair that she made Leah sweat and get nervous and oh so fucking hopeful. Hope was the most lethal poison in the world. Of course she had no chance with Abby, of course she was straight and even if she wasn't, she wouldn't even look at Leah in  the same way.

It was totally stupid of her to write that note. She was terrible at throwing things into the right direction but of course, this time she had to get it right. Life really wanted to torture her, didn't it? Every bit of happiness was gonna be squeezed out of her because if she told Abby how she felt, she would freak out. But if she didn't, she would still be in this mess of staring at the lips of this goddess with her warm eyes and warm hands and if Leah could bet she would say her lips were also warm. But that was a thought that definitely went to far, Abby just broke up with Nick.

And now she was sitting in her living room, waiting for Abby to arrive. And this was just the beginning of the torture.

Abby arrived. Red top, black skirt, tights, hair as perfect as ever. But no matter how colorful her clothes were and no matter how much Abby laughed at her jokes and no matter what she did to cheer Abby up and distract herself, she could not get her eyes away from those perfect lips.

This was definitely a mistake. She was smiling too much and she was not even looking at Abby anymore. Drawing one of her favourite characters because of a request of hers.

Her foot was touching hers and it felt so fucking intimate, like they were kissing or something. And oh my god, that thought was making her breathe too fast. Abby was probably hearing it, thinking what a freak she was.

Abby

Leah was way too good at making pancakes and she felt a little less empty with her.

Most of the time, Abby just rested her head on her shoulder, so she couldn't feel the weight of her thoughts. The time with Leah went by so quickly, nothing but her locks and her eyes was in her memory and the pancakes that tasted like heaven and how she was so talented. No Nick. Until she sat on the stairs of Leah's porch, waiting for her mom to pick her up.

A long silence filled the cold air and Abby sat next to her, her head on Leah's shoulder, practically breathing on her neck. Leah was breathing loudly, but that was more comforting than annoying.

It was a calming silence, but she broke it.

"You think it was the right decision to break up with him?", Leah said and her voice made Abby shiver. She had a relaxing voice if she wasn't screaming.

"I didn't love him, truly", she answered.

Leah stared at her feet and at their thighs that almost touched but didn't. The thought crossed Abby's mind that she wanted to be closer to this girl. Leah wasn't conventionally pretty. But she was still filling up every space in Abby's head right now with nothing but beauty.

Uh oh, she thought as her eyes wandered to Leah's lips. Straight, huh? Maybe not.

She took a deep breath to scare her thoughts away.

"I'm not gonna say you're gonna find someone. Because you're you. You don't need anyone to be strong. But if you want someone...", Leah stopped suddenly.

Damn, Abby could not keep her eyes from wandering over Leah's face.

"Then they're gonna be there when you need them", she ended the sentence and took a deep breath.

These words alone made Abby feel a whole lot of emotions and that was more than just confusing.

She knew, if she stayed here any longer, she would do things she would probably regret.

Thank god that her mom honked the second she thought that.

But a part of Abby still wondered what would have happened if she stayed.
