Leah

Abby was so light in her arms, almost as if she was flying. Well, maybe she actually was an angel. But even that wouldn't explain why Abby called her when she was drunk and lonely and alone. Leah didn't want to be the last resort, she didn't want to be the second choice, but if Abby needed her, she couldn't really help it. She would do anything for her and sometimes, that really sucked.

Abby did not love her. She was straight, there was no doubt about that. And even if she did have some sort of feelings for her, she did not love Leah as person. Just the function she served in her life, the comfort she gave her. It felt like she hadn't called Leah because she actually wanted her but she called her because she had no other choice.

And that was even worse.

But Abby looked so peaceful, wrapped into Leah's blanket, on her bed, in the middle of the night. For a single second Leah thought that she could get used to that. She wished for it. And there was it again, this cursed hope.

Leah sat on her bed now, next to Abby, keeping a respectful distance. After laying there for about a minute, she had to turn around. She couldn't help but stare at Abby and that was definitely disrespectful, so she looked out of the window, still well aware that there was Abby next to her. No matter what she did, she wouldn't leave her head.

She woke up with her head on Abby's chest and she didn't move until she heard Abby talking in her sleep.

"Wafflessss... I want waffles"

She was so adorable, Leah could've kissed her. But she didn't, of course she didn't.

Instead she stood up and made Abby waffles.

"Lee, what are you doing there?", her mum asked.

"Uh, waffles"

"So, you and Abby?"

"I had to pick her up yesterday, she was drunk and didn't know where to go"
"She's sleeping in your bed, Lee. If you don't tell her, I will"

And that was the moment Abby walked down the stairs, her hair messed up and her make up melted. She looked like she didn't sleep for days but she was still perfect.

"Tell me what?"

"Oh, I made you waffles", leah said and her mother left the house smiling at her.

Wow, of course she had to get her into this situation. Hopefully, Abby didn't hear the whole conversation.

"Aww, thanks for everything. I'm so sorry about last night, I just didn't know where to go and of course it was a selfish of me to assume you had time. Thank you so so much for letting me stay with you, it means the world to me."

Leah smiled and her heart fluttered.

"Seriously though, I owe you a favour", Abby said.

"Can I draw you?", Leah said, barely audible.

"Yeah, absolutely."

It was easy drawing the face Leah constantly saw in her dreams and in her head. The only problem was that Abby was resting her head on her shoulder and all of Leah's brain cells had nothing better to do than freak out.
