Ha-ha! Finally some action! No more endless cornfields, and onto the adventure!

The Doctor smiled as the large dragons approached him. Emma clung to his side, curiosity shining in her eyes and battling with fear.

"What are you?" the largest one mused, flicking her's tail. This one was a underlying purple color, with shining yellow eyes.

"Well, it really depends," the Doctor said. "I'm the Doctor, and this is Emma." Emma looked at him, wide-eyed, as he explained to the dragons that they were just visitors, and that they'd soon be on their way to the planet below.

"Draco?" a royal blue dragon tilted his head at them. "How would you accomplish that? We've been working on space travel for ages; there's no way to get down there."

"Well, I've got a blue box, haven't I?" the Doctor replied, smiling. He quietly noted that thus far this was his favorite dragon. He quite liked that each individual had a marking next to their left eye, as it reminded him of the Kahler.

Emma watched quietly, and the Doctor realized with a start that she had no idea what the dragons were saying. Sometimes he forgot what language he was speaking; they all seemed so similar, in his opinion, that it was nearly impossible to tell them apart.

He also realized with a start that the TARDIS wasn't translating Dragon for Emma, possibly because it had been too busy trying to get through the force field surrounding the planet.

"The Doctor?" the thrid dragon, a neon-lightning yellow, with darkly contrasting purple eyes, peered at him. "Where did you pick up a name like that?"

"I thought of it myself," the Doctor smiled.

"I thought that was his name!" the fourth, an aqua-green dragon with yellow eyes, cried, flaring her wings. "I'm Hypatia, that's Tesla (the yellow dragon), that's Irigaray (the purple one), over there is the Doctor (the blue one), and there's Spinoza."

Spinoza, an orange and disturbed looking dragon, sat in the far back, trying to look like he belonged there. He looked at a notepad, which he occasionally scribbled something down on.

"So, what are you, exactly?" Irigaray repeated. "Because you aren't monkeys, at least, I don't think so. Scavengers? No, your a bit bigger, and I can hear your two hearts beating. You are no scavenger, Doctor." She poked the Doctor in the chest with her sharp claw. "So what are you?"

"Scavengers are humans," Emma explained to the Doctor. Apparently the TARDIS had begun to do it's work. "I'm a scavenger, I guess, but the Doctor's from Gallifrey."

"Well, you seem like nice company," Doctor smiled. "Hey! We're like twins, sort of, aren't we? Could you please stay a bit longer?"

"We really must get going," the Doctor sighed, though he did want to stay. But judging by the look on Emma's face, he guessed she'd rather meet some of the dragons below. Maybe they'd come back later, he thought hopefully.

And so they clambered back into the TARDIS, and finally they were on course to Draco...
