He had a bad day

Everyone has a bad day right?

For some, it's because of work.

For some, it's because of school.

And then for some, it's because a portal decided to activate itself again and suck you into another dimension.

I should really start at the beginning.

Dipper and Mabel had moved to Gravity falls shortly after that eventful summer so they could be closer to their grunkles when they are home from their expeditions.
The twins ended up meeting some other kids named Coraline, Wybie, and Norman and they became the Mystery kids. Together they will go and face whatever creepy and strange things may happen.

Well on this day, something strange truly did happen.

Dipper had heard that great uncle Ford was back and so he went to the Shack to look for him. Upon not finding him on the upper floors Dipper ventured into the basement.

"Great uncle Ford? Are you down here? It's me Dipper."

Dipper moved down the stairs and came to the room with the dirty window that looked out into the broken portal room.
Dipper still remembered the day when the portal was activated, the day great uncle Ford came. 

He never thought that it was able to activate again.

Dipper was just about to head back up stairs when he saw something move out of the corner of his eye but when he turned there he couldn't see anything. He rubbed his eyes and again went to head back when he heard the portal room door open behind him.

"Hello?" Dipper against all better judgement went and crept into the portal room. "Great uncle Ford? Is that you?"

He stepped fully into the room and looked around seeing, nothing. "Maybe it was just the wind. Actually if it was wi- what is that?!" Dipper quickly moved to the defensive when he saw a woman cloaked in shadows through the window. She shut the door and moved to the controls messing with a few buttons.

Dipper ran to the door and tried to pull on it but it would not budge. "Look, that's not going to work! Maybe we should just talk this out?"

The ladies face lit up with glee when she found what she was looking for. She gingerly pressed a button with a single finger that made the portal flicker and light up with a swirl of blue.

"What are you doing?! Let me in!" Dipper held tight to the door but slowly, one by one his fingers slipped off of the handle. He looked to the window and saw the woman, now with a more evil glint in her eyes softly wave before she in one quick movement dissolved and dashed into the shadows.

Dipper tried his best but before he could get a better grip on the door, his hands slipped.

In one last attempt to harness himself, he grabbed his hat and hooked it onto the button stand but instead, was sucked in.

The only sign he was ever there was the blue pine tree hat dangling on the stand.

....

"Dipper? Are you down here?"

Mabel had been looking for her brother to no avail. Soos told her that he saw Dipper come down here but the place seemed empty.

Mabel skipped down the dusty steps but quickly stopped when she heard someone behind her.

"What are you doing down here?" Mabel turned to see a girl slightly taller than her with short blue hair.

"Hey Coraline. I was just looking for Dipper but I can't find him anywhere."

"Well he has to be somewhere right?"

The two girls continued down the stairs but didn't see any sign of the boy.

"Mabel, I don't think he is down here. All I see is old nerd junk."

Mabel was just about to agree when her eyes widened suddenly upon looking into the portal room.

"Mabel? What is it?"

The brunette quickly went into the portal room and picked up the hat from the button stand. "I think I know where Dipper went."
