I begin attempting to climb the tree to his hat but my foot ends up slipping and I fall. I look at Wendy and she grabs her belt and begins climbing up the side of the tree with ease. She grabs it and slides down. She hands it to me as a tear rolls down her cheek. It's torn and dirty. It's pretty much ruined. Without a word we begin walking home. We get there after awhile and just sit in the kitchen staring at it. Everyone knows Dipper wouldn't normally leave his hat, this is a lot more serious than we thought. It was also so high in that tree and Dipper is short, so something must have happened. "Wendy?" She snaps to attention tears rolling down her cheeks as she hold his hat in her hands. "Yeah, Mabel?" I sigh. "Maybe he's just out monster hunting..? He'll be back. I know it." I look at the clock, it's almost dinner time but Stan hasn't come to make it yet. Without saying bye to Wendy, I get up and sprint upstairs. I sit on my bed and lay down staring at the ceiling. Wondering what would make Dipper go missing. Maybe there is a clue by his bed. I walk over and immediately see a note I didn't see earlier.its tucked under his pillow slightly. It's hard to read, it's almost chicken scratch, he was in a hurry his writing is nice and neat most of the time.

Dear Mabel,
As you may have guessed I am not home. You don't need to look for me, I won't let you or anyone find me. Please just listen to me. It's safer to stay inside or better yet. Go home. I don't want anything to happen to you. Please just listen to me, I don't want my mistake hurting you.
Your loving brother,
Dipper

I stumble down the stairs tears flowing like rivers down my face as I run into the kitchen. Wendy is still crying, I approach her slowly. She turns to look at me because she must of heard me sniffle. "Look what I found." She grabs it and begins reading. She also begins to cry but a lot more than I am. "Should we tell Stan?" I sit down and look at Dipper's hat. "We have to. We have no other choice." We walk into the living room where Stan is asleep on the seat. I poke his nose in an attempt to wake him nicely but he doesn't wake up. " GRUNKE STAN THIS IS IMPORTANT." He jolts up awake and in some fighting stance. "Huh. What mabel? You scared... startled me." I hand it to him and he sits back down. He reads it and looks up with a look of disappointment in his eyes. "What did he do...?" I start playing with my sleeve. "He read about a wishing stone in the book and was attacked by Gideon when he was making his wish. I don't know what he wished for, I'm worried Stan... What can we do?" He sighs. For once I see tears in his eyes, maybe the old man does care. "All we can do is wait and maybe a missing person report may help." He stands and goes to get changed into his suit. He walks out in his suit but he left his hat in his room I guess. He grabs the keys and points for the door. We all walk out and into the car. It's a few minutes to get to the town but not too long. We arrive at the station, Stan goes in and we wait outside for him. It doesn't take long before he comes out. He gets in but sits there dazing off into the distance. "Stan... I wanna go home." He jolts out of his daze and starts the car. We get back to the shack but nobody is hungry nor says a word. I go up to bed but it's not the same without him. As long as he's missing it will be. It's about 7pm when Stan walks in and sits at the end of my bed. "Mabel, I'm sorry I let this happen..." I look over in confusion. He continues. "If I never gave him his book back he would of never went looking for that stone. It might of seem like a good idea but clearly Gideon had the same idea when he had his book. He must of read about it and when looking. That's probably why he attacked Dipper. He knew he had it. I just hope Dipper used more common sense then someone I used to know." He tears up. "Yeah. I knew someone who wished on that stupid rock. He wished and I never saw him again..." I sit on the edge of my bed next to him... "Can we try to find him again?" He looks at me, he knows Dipper means everything to me. He sighs and stands at the door. "Let's go." He leaves and I put my only pair of boots on. We head out into the forest. Stan has a flashlight and I have my glowing sweater on. We walk around but we can't even imagine where he is. I feel like we me and Dipper always had this twin connection. We could always have an idea of how the other felt, I don't feel that anymore. It makes me feel really empty. Whatever happened isn't good, it means he's... MISSING. Yeah that's it. Not dead just missing. No way he's dead. He has his journal, I just want him to be alright... I'm really worried. We have been walking awhile and have seen nothing. I start looking at the ground for footprints maybe but I get nothing. Stan stops. "What's wro..." He shushes me. He gingerly points towards a cave with a strange glow coming out. We start to attentively begin to trek towards the lighted cave. We approach it and hear quiet sobbing. We enter and...
