We enter and there is a small campfire with a man sitting by it. Stan motions me to back up, I listen. He turns the flashlight off and slowly approaches them. It doesn't look like dipper but I can't really tell. Stan is right behind them when the person speaks. I can't hear them but Stan is clearly "startled". Stan backs up out of the cave and try's to motion something to me as he runs. I'm not scared. Grunkle Stan is not easily scared but he is clearly frightened. I crouch and slowly approach the man sitting in the cave. It's dark in the cave but there is still just a little light coming from the small, dwindling fire. I'm behind the man when he stands and turns. It all happens so fast. He grabs my arms and holds them behind me. "Hello." His voice is familiar but I can't see him because we are facing away from the fire and there is a shadow over his face. "I feel like we have had a conversation like the one about to follow before... Strange..." I keep squirming but he doesn't let go, it actually makes him tighten his grip. Stan renters the cave and sees the predicament. "Let her go." His voice is stern but pleading at the same time. "Why should I? They ruined this once for me before." Stan rolls his sleeves up, he's ready to fight. Stan begins to walk up but the man spins me around and threatens to push me into the fire, which has stirred up. "Please stop!" He's almost begging him. "Stan you could easily beat this guy up! You punched a pterodactyl in the face remember!" He sighs and the man laughs. "Not this time. What do you want...?" Bargains? What's going on?! I look up and see not what I expected at all. "...Gabe?..." Stan could easily take Gabe... Unless. I look back up at the face of someone I knew. His hair was short and not in his normal ponytail. "This isn't Gabe anymore..." He says almost laughing. Then it hits me. I know that laugh from anywhere... "...Bill..." He looks down and nudges me more towards the fire. It's starting to get really hot, I wish I didn't wear a sweater. "Stan! Help me!" He frowns. "What do you want...?" Stan knew he couldn't take bill and bill knew just as well as Stan. Bill smiles. "Oh. Looky here! Are you making a deal with me..?" He laughs again. "Okay, let's say I want your life. Is that alright? Or can I just "take" that?" He pretends to let his hand slip and I jerks me towards the fire. "Ahhhhhh! Help Stan!" He sighs. "Anything else or just me?" Bill thinks and nods yes. "I would love to have her because Dipper is so much easier to make deals with but if you want to die for her I'm alright with that." "Can I at least say goodbye and hug my granddaughter?" Bill sighs and releases my sleeve. Grunkle Stan grabs me and we run. "Stanford, that was a bad move." We hear him still yelling but it's hard to hear him because we're running so fast. We get inside the shack and Stan runs into his office and opens a trapdoor below his rug. "Get in, we'll be safe here for now." We jump in and close the door. "He's gonna find us!" Stan covers my mouth. I squirm but give up after realizing he's just trying to make me shut up. He let's go after a few minutes. We hear crashing above us but the door stays closed. After a half an hour of silence stan peeks his head up from the trapdoor. "We're clear." He pulls me up and we go and sit in the kitchen. "Will he be back?" He shrugs and grabs a Pitt soda from the fridge. "As long as he's a person we have the advantage." He cracks it open and takes a long drink. He gags then spits out the pit. "Always forgetting about that stupid pit." We laugh and hear a knock at the door. Stan and I shoot looks at each other. We silently agree Stan will answer the door. He gets up and heads for the door. I hear the door open, Stan grunt, then close the door. He walks back in with a tub of ice cream. "There was note that says for you... So here" he hands it to me and I look at the post-it note on the top. It's not anyone I know's handwriting. I then put it in the freezer and grab a Popsicle instead. Wendy walks in and sits at the table with us. "Any luck?" We nod no and she sighs. "What are you doing here so late?" Grunkle Stan asks in confusion. "I can't take my brothers, they are so annoying! I was gonna ask if I could stay here for the night?" He nods and I take her upstairs to.. my... room. I set up a thick blanket on the floor and add some of my pillows. She goes to lay down but I let her just sleep on my bed. I lay down on the blanket and fall asleep within seconds.
