Chapter Nine

Don't make me sad, don't make me cry

Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough

I don't know why

"What do you mean he's not here?! Harry, you were supposed to be watching him!" I screeched, fear and desperation filling me in a matter of seconds. Harry stood in front of me calmly, scratching the back of his head as he let me yell at him.

"I'm sorry Ni... I swear to god he was right next to me when I last checked. I lost him, I'm sorry. He couldn't have gotten far, knowing him he went to Blake... It'll be okay. Don't stress yourself, think about the baby..." Harry whispered the last part, and I tried to calm down. Can you blame me? A.J. had run off... Jimmy was around.

I was freaking out.

"I... I'm gonna start looking for him. You take this area, I'll check with Beth." I said, trying to stay calm but all I wanted to do was puke. Harry nodded before doing what I asked.

It didn't take me long to find Bethany, but when I did I knew A.J. wasn't with her. Blake was with her though, and that made me feel even sicker.

"Beth!" I screamed, nearly running to her.

"Niall? You okay?"

"Hav-Have you seen A.J.?" I panted out, the urgency to find him growing.

"I can't say I have... B, have you seen A.J.?" Bethany asked Blake. Blake stopped playing with the stick he had found, looked at Bethany confused before realization came over his face.

"Uh yeah... I think he went with Dad?" Blake answered, shrugging.

"Do you know where?"

"They're just over by the pond. A.J. wanted to look at the ducks." I nodded, but the answer to his whereabouts didn't help my anxiety in my stomach.

"Thanks Blake." I said before heading over to the pond. I silently hoped that Harry had already come over and found A.J., of course majority of my hopes never come true.

A.J. was staring at the ducks with wide eyes, squealing as one got too close. Jimmy stood behind him, a smile on his face as he watched.

"Alexander!" I called out, causing not only to have my son look my direction but also for Jimmy to look.

"Mummy! Look! Duckies!" A.J screamed, pointing excitedly at the ducks. My smiles was fake the closer I got to them, I didn't want anything to do with Jimmy.

"I see that little bean... Daddy is worried about you though so we should go find him." I said once I reached him. A.J. grabbed my hand though and shook his head.

"No. I want ducky." A.J. stated.

"Sweetie please don't fight me..."

"Mummy. No go."

"There's no need to leave Mummy. Let the kid enjoy the ducks." My blood went cold as Jimmy spoke, the want to leave almost overpowering now.

"Leave us alone Jimmy." I whispered, turning to look at him. Jimmy wore that stupid smirk he always wore, one that usually made you smile back but now all it did was make me feel weak.

He knew I couldn't defend myself.

He could easily overpower me.

And I hated that.

"Your little guard dog isn't here to protect you now little brother." Jimmy whispered, taking another step towards me.

"Jimmy, I'm warning you."
