Waiting Until Dawn {Mike Monroe x Reader}

Chapter 12

If You are Alive:

(Y/n) P.O.V.

After getting us somewhere safe, and tending to our wounds, the authorities had to question us. We were all separated for questions. Including a Matt and Jess. They were found alive near the mines.

If both Mike and Chris are dead:

"You seem very upset."

"You would too if you lost what I did." I hiss

"What did you lose?"

"Everything. My brother, and the man I loved." I stare into space.

"We can arrange for you to get some professional help if you need it."

"It's not worth it." I mumble.

"He would still be alive right now if it weren't for her." I growl. "I will never be able to forgive her." My head sinks into my hands, and I let all my emotions flood out.

If Chris is dead, but Mike is alive:

"We found out from one of the other survivors that your brother died on that trip."

I nod. "He did. His head was ripped off in front of me." Tears fall. "There were these... creatures in the mountain."

"Is there anyone that would have want to hurt your brother?"

"Excuse me?"

"Could anyone have done this to him?"

"Are you implying that one of my friends killed him? Because I know what I saw!" I hiss.

"I'm just saying, you were having a night trip with friend, you might of had a lot to drink..."

I cut them off. "No. Go and look for yourself. Those things are dangerous. Evil. And they aren't human."

"Would you like a therapy session? You've had a traumatic experience."

I shake my head. "Not as long as I have Mike. It hurts, but it will get better. Because I know he will give all the help I need. Can I go now?" I intend to keep my promise to not end up like Josh.

If Mike is dead, but Chris is alive:

"We spoke with your brother. He told us about your boyfriend. Mike?"

I keep my eyes on the ground. "He's gone."

"Can you tell us what happened?"

"Sam was running from those things. She messed up. I'll never forgive her. I love him and she took him away from me." My words are quiet, but harsh and hateful.

"Things?"

"Go to the mountain. And you'll see." I say, just now looking up.

"Are you going to be okay? Need anyone to talk to?"

I nod. "I probably should get help. I need to better. For Chris if not myself."

If both Mike and Chris are alive:

"What exactly happened on that mountain?"

"There were these... things that lived there. They aren't humans. I thought they weren't real."

"Are you sure? Maybe you kids were drunk."

"No, we hadn't had anything to drink. Our friend Joshua Washington played a prank on us. We thought it was him. But no, it was the creatures." I insist.

"I don't think that's-"

"That's what happened. I know it. Can I go? I have people waiting for me."

If You are Dead:

The remaining group, along with Matt and Jess found at the mines, were patched up and questioned.

If Mike is alive, but Chris is dead:

The reporters were questioning Mike at the moment.

"We found out that you're girlfriend died. Is that correct?"

Mike looks angry, and nods.

"Sam left her in the house when she flipped the switch. She's the reason (Y/n) is dead! She left her to die! You know (Y/n) panicked when ever she even saw just an open flame. She was so scared of being burned. To go out like that....I wish I could have done more." His voice was broken.

Mike buried his face in his hands.

"I'd you'd like, we can get you a therapist to talk to. This has been a very traumatic experience."

Mike shrugged

"What's the use? I love her."

Mike looked away. He was done talking.

If both Mike and Chris are dead:

Sam was answering the questions of the reporters when they came to the final one.

"You were the last one out of the cabin before it was lit on fire, correct?"

She nodded, tears about to spill.

"Mike and (Y/n) were still in there. It's my fault."

She'd never forgive the mistake she'd made, but she found slight comfort in the thought that they were at least together, that she'd see her brother again, that they could be happy somewhere.

If both Mike and Chris is alive:

Both Chris and Mike had been angry and upset during their interview. Chris was crying after it, Ashley, while also crying, trying to comfort him the best she could. Mike however, sat alone, feeling empty inside. Feeling nothing. He'd lost the person he cared more about then he had for anyone else. He wasn't ready to move on without her. And he wasn't sure how he would. He only looked at Sam with hatred now, while Chris wouldn't look her in the eye. She felt horrible already, and the looks they gave her made her feel worse. A good friend was gone. She wasn't sure how to move on either.

If Mike is dead, but Chris is alive:

Chris was kinda numb while being questioned. He saw a person die in front of him, and the then his friend and sister go up in smoke.

"We received news about your sister. We're very sorry for the loss."

Chris didn't really respond. He didn't know how.

"I was supposed to protect her. I always tried to protect her. I guess I failed." He finally said.

"Would you like to see someone? You went through a lot."

He thought about it for a moment. He thought about who Josh had become at the loss of his sisters. He thought about what (Y/n) would do if the roles were reversed.

"Yeah, I probably should. I don't want to end up like Josh." Though, he whispered that last part to himself.
