Lafayette rode the Subway to his and John's apartment. He opened the door, seeing John on the couch.

"I have something to tell you!" They both said at the same time. "You go first." Lafayette said.

"Well, you know that parent I was telling you about the other night?" John asked, receiving a nod from Lafayette who now moved beside John on the couch. "Oui, I do." Lafayette said.

"Well, his wife is currently out of town for the next few months and he was mentioning to me how he had been only eating out and I was all like 'you know that isn't healthy for your kid?' Because I did study medical shit for a short period of time. Anyways, he was saying how he can't cook so I went to his house and helped him and I think there was a bit of flirting going on but I'm not sure. He's cute and I feel drawn to him but he's married." John said, whining the last part.

Lafayette got a big smile on his face. "Oh my! What did he say that was flirtatious?" He asked. "He asked if I was single and when I said I was, he told me I was as cute as a button." John said. "And I wouldn't mind so much if he wasn't married." He added.

Lafayette nodded. "I know you wouldn't, Ami. Just be friendly with him. Not flirty, just make a-oh What do you Americans call it- a bromance! Oui, bromance." He said. John nodded. "I will. What's your news?" He asked.

Lafayette began to smile. "I met someone." He said. John's face immediately looked excited. "Oh my god! How-where-who?! Tell me everything." He said.

Lafayette laughed a bit. "I met him at the café. All the seats were taken so he sat next to me. We began to talk. His name is George and he owns a law firm." He explained. "We exchanged numbers so I may ask him on a proper date."

John smiled widely, happy for his friend. "I'm so glad! I hope he's good. I'll kick his ass." He muttered the last part.

"John, you're so petit you couldn't hurt an already wounded fly." Lafayette snickered. John rolled his eyes and pushed his friend playfully. "Whatever." He said.

Over the course of the next week, Lafayette had gone on a successful date with George. The two were really hitting it off and Lafayette was obviously happy about it.

Alexander had spent the weekend upstate with Eliza and Phillip. John and Alexander had talked a bit and even exchanged numbers. They were talking but anytime Alexander would flirt, John would just give a short reply and change the subject.

They were getting close though and they were becoming good friends. They had a lot more in common than they thought. They had the same music taste, they both spoke more than one language, and they had both gone through traumatic situations, even if neither specified what they were.

George was dropping Lafayette off at his apartment. "You should come to a party I'm throwing Saturday. It would be fun and you'd meet a few of my friends." He hummed as they rode the elevator. "Oui, I will but can I bring John?" Lafayette asked. He hadn't been spending much time with him lately because him and George had gone out together everyday this week, unless Lafayette had a class.

George nodded. "Of course, my dear. It's at my house, there will be alcohol, and the dress is business casual. It starts at seven on Saturday, but you can come early if you would like." He said.

Lafayette nodded as the doors opened, walking down the hall. "I'll be sure do come." He hummed before they made it to his apartment, since it wasn't far. George smiled and leaned on the wall. "Good. I have this friend named Alexander I'm sure you'll adore. He's like a son to me." He chuckled.

Lafayette smiled. "Ah, I'm sure I will then, Cheri." He said, grabbing his keys and unlocking the door. John was home but whenever one of them was alone in the apartment, they locked the door, more so for safety.

George nodded and gave Lafayette a small kiss on the cheek, since they hadn't gone any further than that. "See you Saturday." He said. Lafayette smiled more at the kiss. "See you then, mon amour." He said before walking in his apartment and shutting the door.

John was in the kitchen, cooking something with Alexander on FaceTime. "No, idiot. You wait for the water to boil. Then you add the noodles." He said, laughing before seeing Lafayette wall in. "Hey, Laf!" He said from his spot.

Lafayette smiled and waved. "Hey, John. Who are you talking to?" He asked, hanging his coat up on the rack they had next to the door.

"Mr. Hamilton." John hummed as Alexander spoke to him through the phone about how stupid it was to wait on it to boil.

"Well, he sounds like a charm." Lafayette smiled as he heard Alexander's rant.

"Okay so now you will have to wait longer because you're dumb, not the noodles, you." John said, stirring the hamburger meat on the side.

Alexander laughed a bit over the phone. "I'm smarter than some damn noodles." He muttered. "Barely." John said back.

Lafayette sat on the couch and pretended he wasn't listening at John's flirting. He was happy for John, because from what he could hear, Hamilton was flirting too, however he was upset, knowing John would only get hurt since Hamilton was married.

John pot of water began to boil so he poured his macaroni in it. "See, being the intellectual person I am, I waited for the water to boil before putting the macaroni in." He hummed.

"Okay, okay. But I've never made macaroni before so I wouldn't know." Alexander laughed over the phone. John gave the phone a weird look. "You've never made macaroni before? What does Phillip eat?" He asked.

Alex laughed more at John's statement. "He normally has the one serving cups that you microwave." He explained. John nodded.

The two continued to chat, more so flirt, as John gave Alexander the instructions as they both cooked. They eventually hung up and John sighed happily, making a bowl of the meal for himself.

"How was your date?" John asked, grabbing a fork and leaning on the counter.

Lafayette then walked into the kitchen. "It was good. We went to the park and he bought me a pretzel." He said, getting himself a small bowl of the hamburgermac John had made. "Though I should be asking how your date went, Ami." Laf hummed.

John furrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?" He asked. "Oh come on, you and Hamilton were flirting the entire time!" Lafayette said.

John huffed. "I was not. And neither was he." He muttered. Lafayette gave John a look. "You haven't talked to anyone like that in a long time ami." Lafayette hummed. "Also this is very delicious." He added.

"Thank you." John said. "And I was just being friendly." He muttered. Lafayette sighed. "John, you talk to him the same way you spoke to Frances." He said.

John frowned, shaking his head. He didn't say anything, not wanting to.

Lafayette frowned at that. "I'm sorry." He said after a moment.

John just shrugged and ate quietly now, not really in the best mood. Lafayette sighed. "If it makes you feel any better, George is throwing a party on Saturday and said I could invite you. There will be alcohol, games, and new people. And you're coming because I want you there." He said.

John gave a small laugh. "Fine." He said, finishing his bowl and putting the dishes in the sink.
