Ch. 22) Cookies

    #Logan's pov#

    It's been a few days since Roman had left on his quest and he still hasn't come back home. Patton's fretting over this. He's crying a lot which I do not enjoy. Emotions are the bane of my existence and I do not understand why he is crying over this. Roman will show up again as he always does. Nothing bad has happened to him, right?
     "Logan!! What if he got taken like Virgil did?!?!? We have to save them!!" Patton cries out as he clutches onto his teddy bear tightly. We we're currently in his room and sitting on his bed. He had been crying since he found out Roman wasn't back.
      "Patton, it isn't logical to go after them right now. We don't even know if he did get taken. I'm sure he didn't because you lnow Roman, his quests always take longer than they should." I explain to him in a matter of fact way, hoping that it would calm him down. Patton sniffles and nods his head as he looks away from me.
       "Yeah....yeah, you're right, Logan!! His quest is just taking longer than expected and he'll be back tomorrow!!" He jumps up, looking happy and bubbly again. "Let's go make some cookies for him for when he does get back!!" Patton grabs my hand and drags me with him to the kitchen.
       "But...!! I can't bake!!" Saying this caused Patton to giggle which made my face heat up.
       "Nonsense, LoLo!! You can bake, you just don't know how to yet!!"

       It had been a exactly eight minutes and fifty five seconds, fifty six seconds, fifty seven seconds.
       "Logan!!" I look over at Patton who had shouted at me and realize why he had shouted in the first place.
       "Oops....." He was covered in batter that I had accidentally got everywhere. Guess I turned the mixer up to high. Patton laughs and takes some of the batter off his face, wiping it onto mine instead.
        "There!! Now we match!!" I swear on all things Crofters this man is going to be the death of me. My face is probally bright red right now.
        "Patton...t-this is very unprofessional!!" I silently curse myself for stuttering.
       "Calm down, Logie!! It doesn't have to be professional!! Now, let me help you!!" He moves in between my arms and grabs the mixer from me, taking my hands and setting them where they're supposed to be. After that he places his hands on top of mine and helps me mix the batter correctly. The entire time my face felt like it was on fire and I swear that Patton might be able to hear my heart beat.

     We finally got done with the cookie batter and started to put them onto the trays. I looked over at Patton to see that he had eaten some of the raw dough.
     "Patton, that is very unhealthy!" He just looks at me with 'puppy dog eyes', as most people call them. I bite at my bottom lip and sigh. "Fine...you're allowed to eat a bit of it, I suppose it won't hurt you." Patton squeals and hugs me.
     "Thank you, Logan!!" He kisses my cheek and blushes as he looks away. That cookie dough seemed very interesting to him right now......
     "I...Patton?" My voice most likely sounded hesitant to him. The shorter male hums and looks up at me, his face a light shade of red making his freckles stand out more.
      "Yeah....?" I take in a deep breath and smile at him.
      "Is it alright if I kiss you?" I know that we're technically dating and have kissed before but consent is the sexiest kink. Patton's face could rival that of a solanum lycopersicum, or a tomato as most people call it.
         "Y-yeah...it's alright!!" He nods slowly and I gently cup his cheeks, pulling him in for a soft and gentle kiss. I find it weird how he always manages to taste like sweets, mainly strawberries. Patton puts his arms around my neck and pulls me closer. After a few moments we pull apart and Patton was smiling like an idiot. I can't say that I wasn't doing the same.
     "I love you, Patton."
     "I love you too, Logan." He giggles and walks away from me so he can finish the cookies. I was still smiling as I start to clean up the mess that we made. Maybe everything wasn't okay right now but, at least I have Patton. Right?
