Chapter Seven

Ugh...why does it hurt so much?" I say whilst gently sitting up trying to avoid any harsh movements... "Wait... What? Where am I?" I say frantically looking around the room trying to figure out where I was.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, you were pretty banged up when I brought you here. So, I suggest you just take it easy until the nurse comes back"

I shake my head, backing up into the corner, I try to breath, but it was too hard, black splotches cover my vision. I raise my arm up and over my head, to protect myself from any oncoming hits.

"P-please don't hurt m-me!" I stutter as I close my eye waiting.

"It's okay everything's okay now"

Ha, everything's not okay, it probably never will be!!

"Crystal, you are safe here, I'm not going to hurt you I would never do that okay, so please let me help you!" I heard a desperate voice yell out.

I could feel my muscles in my chest slowly start to loosen as I started to breath properly again. I bring my arms down from around my head, resting them on the bed. Wait, What! Why is there a bed?!!

Looking around I notice that I'm in the nurse's office at school. Oh, shit... If father finds out, I'm DEAD!! I have to get out of here NOW!

I was about to get down and off the bed but just as I was about the jump down, the door opened to reveal nurse Kate.

"Oh Crystal, you're up, good but I suggest you don't move it's going to cause more pain for It was lucky Mister Black here, got to you in time!"

She said giving me a comforting smile, then turning towards Ryder.

"Now young man, thank you for bringing Miss Smith to me but can you please show yourself out, so I can continue my examination, please"

"Yeah, no problem nurse Kate, I guess I'll see you around then Crystal?"

"Y-yeah i-i guess." I said not really knowing how to answer.

As Ryder left, nurse Kate turned towards me, "Now Crystal do you remember what happened before you passed out?"

I shake my head telling her I did.

"Could you tell me what happened?" She asked as she reached for another bandage.

I contemplated whether or not I should tell nurse Kate the truth or risk getting another beating from Mel and her minions again. Making my decision, I decided to tell nurse Kate that someone accidentally tripped me in the hallway which in turn caused me to slip and fall into the lockers.

She just looked at me, studying me, trying to figure out if I was lying or not.

"Hmm, okay dear, just be careful next time, now you listen to me I don't want to see you again you hear me!" She said in a playful tone.

"O-okay n-nurse Kate, I'll t-try not t-to get hurt again." I say, with a small smile. "N-nurse Kate, did you have to call my f-father?" I say, hoping she didn't have to.

"No dear, why do you ask?" She said looking at me with a curious/questioning look.

"O-oh no reason n-nurse Kate." I say, putting a small smile on my face.

"Well, there you go Crystal, all patched up, now remember what I said, I do t want to see you back here again," she said playfully putting away the medical supplies.

"T-thank you nurse Kate, I won't be back hopefully," I say getting off the bed, stumbling a little before I got my footing, gently placing my bag on my shoulder and making my way towards to the door.
