I Have Never Seen Volcanoes

Emily and Sue discuss the idea of running away together and dress as men to sneak into a lecture.

The evening following our romantic kiss in the orchard, Sue and I were inseparable. I craved her touch and I am pretty sure she craved mine. She even slept in my bed for the 100th time, I am NOT complaining. I have no idea what time it is but the sun has started to rise. As per usual I've woken up before her.

I realise this is probably one of the last times Sue will be in my bed. I sigh and turn towards her. Her eyes shut gently and I couldn't help but admire the beauty that laid beside me.

Slowly her eyes opened and she looked towards me, "Were you watching me sleep?" she asks. I nod and whisper "yes." she looks slightly alarmed and whispers back "don't do that, that's creepy".

I nod in agreement and whisper "Well I'll never do it again considering you won't be sleeping in my bed anymore."

She sits up quickly and asks "are you telling me to go back to the boarding house?" I shake my head quickly. "I'm just saying you won't be sleeping in my bed when you and my...brother get married." laying down slowly all we can do is sigh.

I looked at Sue and for a moment i truly thought we could be together. "By the way... you know Austin eats cookies at night? Crumbs go everywhere." As i turned to Sue, she laid so peacefully "I wanna go back to sleep."

She wants to go back to sleep? If only we could fall asleep besides one another for the rest of our lives. Wouldn't that be a treat.

"I can't sleep with you next to me." I stated

"Why not?" she gasped

I thought for a moment, what did the noise sound like?"Because there's, like, this... rumbling. And it rumbles and rumbles." Even if i didn't i'd like to think i explained this as best as i could to her but anyways...

"Do you mean I snore?" she asked with a smile on her face

WHY CANT WE JUST BE TOGETHER. I'd be dammed

"I wish I could just marry you." Look i cant help myself. I'm in love. I know she loves me too.

"You'd be a terrible husband." Did she seriously just say that to me?

"How could you say that?" I feel quite offended, i think i'd be a marvellous man... but i guess she thinks differently? We shall see.

"You have no practical skills." Look i was gonna argue back but to be fair when i sat up to start my argument she cut me off and i- i gave up. Sue smirked to herself as she said
"And you're too small to fend off enemies."

"Okay, fine. But I bet I'd look good in a suit."

But then a marvellous idea struck my mind
"Here's an idea. Let's just run all the way
to the edge of the earth and... fall off."

I think i was quite convincing might i say.

She smiles slightly and strokes my ear down to my jawline. "Sounds nice." We lay like this for point five seconds before a knock on the door.

Austin. Of. Bloody. Course. The door swings open and in sheer panic i rush to hide under the covers.

Hey guys, i apologise for the disappearance. I was reading a few of the comments from the first chapter which made me sad. i will be finishing this chapter later this weekend and writing more of the other chapters.
