I sat on the edge of the landing dock as Astrid and Hiccup were saddling their dragons. We're still waiting for Eret to arrive.
"Alright guys. Please remember to be NICE and listen to him alright?" Hiccup sighed.
"Yeah! That means no leaving people to fend for themselves!" Ruffnut growled at Snotlout about him leaving me last night. I'll admit I was furious. I didn't sleep at all last night. I told the Twins not to worry about it, that he'd come back. HE NEVER DID. So, I slept on a table looking like I've had too much RUM.
I feel kind of bad I left Thora like that last night. But, at least the Twins got her home.
"You know what Ruff, I don't hit girls. But, you're about to get a mouth full of fist!" I growled.
"SHUT IT ALL OF YOU!" Thora yelled.
"We'll try Hiccup." I nodded at them. That's when Eret landed with a Rumblehorn.
"That's a Rumblehorn right?" I leaned over to Fishlegs who was sitting next to me.
"Not just ANY Rumblehorn. THE Rumblehorn." He smiled happily.
"You mean Stoick's? How'd He get him?" I asked.
"Hiccup gave it to him. To welcome him to Berk."
"Oh..." I saw Ruffnut greet him immediately. She seemed pretty happy to see him.He looked a little creeped out.
"So...uh. Where's the damsel in distress?" He put his hands on his hips and looked at Astrid and Hiccup.
"Turn around." Astrid pointed at me.
"Hello..." He looked at me like I don't think anyone has before. He didn't feel bad for me, he just seemed to genuinely care.
I saw the way he looked at her, and the way she looked at him. I WASNT losing her.
"Hi." She said as I grabbed her hand kissing it kindly. "What is your name?" She looked up at me surprised with a smile starting to form.
"Uhm. Thora." They weren't kidding. He is huge. Yet, sweet. I wonder why he doesn't kill dragons anymore...
"Since when do you like being called Damsel in distress?" Snotlout asked.
"I don't. But I don't have to be so rude. Especially to people who are trying to help."
"Where was that attitude the day before you disappeared for a week?"
"Why did you disappear for a week?" Eret asked, ignoring the comments.
"Everything was just so stressful. I wanted to go to the spot I watched my Dad die. I should've never left.
"You did what you had to do. There's no shame in that." I felt...relieved.
"We didn't send for you to make her feel better Eret. Just to make her walk again."
"Right, sorry. Bonus I guess." He laughed.
"Alright, now that you're acquainted. Eret, if you need help around here Fishlegs knows this place like the back of his hand." Astrid put her hand on his shoulder and she came over to give me a hug.
"Don't worry Thora. We'll keep in touch with Terrors okay?" Hiccup got on Toothless, and Astrid on Stormfly.
"Come on Thora let's get you back to my hut huh?" Snotlout came over and I stopped him.
"So? You can take me back today. But, last night you couldn't?" I growled.
"The Twins wanted to. So, they did."
"Did you even go back to your hut last night?"
"No. I was mad."
"Yeah? Well, now I'm mad!" I our eyes locked, I think he was in shock and I was just furious.
"Right, well. Do you want to go some where quiet?" Fishlegs interrupted.
"Yes. I do." Thora looked at Fishlegs then at Eret. Eret seemed to have picked her up with ease. I'm sure now. I'm gonna lose her. To that know it all Viking.
"Lead the way Fishlegs." I watched as he carried her away from me. I felt defeated, and broken. I let her down. I can't help her, and I know that. Hopefully, he can.
Fishlegs walked us to the Dome.
"Okay. Think you can find your way back?" He smiled.
"We'll be just fine. Thank you." He grinned. He's so polite, how does he do it? Fishlegs left and Eret began talking to me.
"So, you're staying in Snotlout's hut?" He asked.
"Yes. I'm sorry about our fight back there. We're both just stressed."
"Hey, don't apologize! You're going through a rough time right now. But, if you want to talk about it I'm glad to listen." He smiled sitting me against the dome wall.
"It wouldn't be a bother?" I asked him with a confused face.
"Never." He laughed as if it was a stupid question.
"Well. Snotlout has been feeling really guilty about the condition I'm in. And Tuffnut hit a nerve. He said something about Snotlout not being able to help me. So, he stormed out telling the Twins they could take me home. Trying to prove a point, and I get that. But, I told the Twins to go home. I knew he'd be back because, he'd regret it later. So, I sat there and waited and he never came."
"He's a fool not to come back to you. But, why should he feel bad about the situation?"
"He shouldn't! He thinks he should've stopped me before I left for that mountain and maybe I'd still be able to walk, and I don't want him to feel guilty. I got upset, I told him off, and disappeared. Because, I was only thinking of myself."
"Hmm...pretty selfish if I say so. I didn't think you'd be that selfish of a Viking. Don't judge the size of the sheep by it's wool I suppose." He shrugged standing up.
"I'm NOT a selfish person! That's the first time I've put myself before the Riders!" I said.
"Really?" He looked over smirking.
"Yes really."
"Then you have no reason to feel bad, and I think you should've done it sooner." He shrugged.
"Really?"
"Yes really." He laughed. "So, what do you want to work on first?"
I looked down at my hands and legs. I looked back up my eyes meeting with his. I then raised my wrapped hands in the air, shrugging my shoulders.
"It's be nice if I could eat again...properly." He grinned at me with a determined look.
"Now we're talking..."
